I dont think Hasbro controls every aspect of the series. They probably ask the writers, (and i'm being down to earth, now) "Hey, we would like you to write an episode showcasing the new toys. An ep or two parter, if you want."

I'll say it now and say it again. I dont see Hasbro as ruining MLP's future nor do I see it as the stereotypical 'We Must Maxmize Profits, Muhahaahhah...' kind of company. They in it for the profits, sure, that's what any company or person would want with a successful franchise like this, but they still care about the fans. And while they still haven't given the AJ toy her hat, something I'm sure requires another year of R&D (research and development) to get it right, the fact that Hasbro's now trying to get their toys to resemble the show's characters (including branching out to characters like Gilda) is a positive nod to the fans. They even got Celestia in her original coat.

I may come off to users as one of those anti-Hasbro people but really, it's just my mannerism, or the way I speak on the internet: sarcastic + sometimes blowing things out of proportions for some kicks.

I think some of the changes Hasbro made were for the better - I don't think having the focus on adventure episodes would have helped, they toned up the initial "scariness" of some of the monsters, and the pushing for the Friendship Express led to greater flexibility with stories outside of Ponyville (while the train from Over a Barrel might have distracted from them).

Saying that, I think the worry is that pushing more and more PRETTY PINK PRINCESS PONIES into the show could damage it - I've said this in the toy thread before referring specifically to Pinklestia, but Hasbro's attitude over these is directly contrary to the "there's all kinds of ways to be a girl" message that is at the core of the show, along with forcing new characters in. Of course, this is literally the worst way to learn about a new character, given that it only gives colour scheme and Hasbro's impression of her appearance. I think Hasbro only mandates for the character being in and not their personality, so for all we know, she could be Diamond Tiara 2.0 (although that would then beg the question why they didn't just make So Soft Newborn Diamond Tiara instead).

The backdrop and her outfit kind of remind me of Trixie's cape for some reason. Kid sister maybe? Although if the "mommy" comment is assumed to not be referring to the person playing, that definitely suggests Cadence... so is S3 going to skip time forward a bit, or does Hasbro just have no baby clip-art?

To be honest, I full expect that to happen because babby princess = $$$ - And it would also just be the logical progress. Couple gets married, couple makes babies. Kids shows are very predictable when it comes to that sorta thing, and even though this is a really good kids show we are talking about, certain tropes are still going to be invoked for better or for worse.

Cadance has a horn and wings. SA has a horn. Therefore, the baby should have wings and two horns, because that's how genetics work. Basically, imagine a springbok or gazelle with wings, but the horns point forward.

I don't know why that image makes me mildly uncomfortable.

Well, in all fairness, ponies ARE born at a decent size and are able to walk. I think it makes sense.

I just want to remind everyone that a lot of people had almost these exact same reactions to S2 stuff, and look what a great season we got there. People tend to forget that the show isn't just Lauren and there are a lot of talented people working on the show who love what they do and know how to handle what Hasbro throws at them. Have a little faith in them!

Also if I remember correctly there was a So-SoFt bAby pInKiE PiE!!!!! awhile back and it's not like Pinkie turned into some pink eldritch monstrosity (yet?!?) so I think we'll be OK. If Skyla does end up in the show they'll probably do something funny or creative with her.

Hasbro told these folks to make an episode about a pink pony princess wedding and they made it brilliant.

I ain't even worried. Heck, if baby princess there shows up in the cartoon at all, she could easily turn out to be really cute/funny and the fans could end up loving her.
It's good to keep a healthy bit of worry and panic around though. More fun that way.

I tend to have low expectations for anything I'm initially hyped about. That's probably why the worst episode in MLP FiM is a somewhat good episode

Frankly I'm not surprised by a potential babby princess or whatever nor am I going to get upset about it because as silly as it may be, we're all watching a show made to sell toys to little girls and this is just the way things go as such. Once you start getting mad about new toy-driven characters it's probably a sign of taking this goofy thing too seriously.

FoP was long gone before that insertion (which at least was somewhat fresh for a little while), with the Jimmy/Timmy extremely meh crap. I think that series peaked at Channel Chasers, that would have made a great series finale.

That's true, but that purple ball child was what hit the nail for me. But yeah, it was long gone before that, Channel Chasers should indeed have been the finale.

It's extremely fucked here in Denmark because part of the show is aired on Disney Channel, and the other half of the show is airing on Nickelodeon. Both have different voice actors, I think they've skipped a couple of seasons that are in between. I'm just lucky that I can set my TV to play the english voices, which also means I don't have to stick with the VERY rubbish dub of MLP. Danish dubs used to kick ass, but today they just suck majorly. Anyways, kind of side tracked here.
