Well, here's my first attempt at it. I went and used SPC files and output them to wav and then manually made them loop correctly. Enjoy. :yay:

Because the sprites in the game look like final fantasy 4 dag gum it.

I'm thinking about creating a pony-related music replacer. Problem is, I can't decide what I'd use besides this as the boss music.

Not to be a nitpicker, but the only thing I have against it is it doesn't loop but drops out and restarts. :flutterdear:

Well the gigantic gold house is impressive and the terrarium is great, but it's missing something...

So.

We really oughta set up a big pvp event or something, like with a preset arena map and brand new characters. Make the final objective something like, fill an obsidian hollow in the other teams base with lava or something similar that would take digging all the way down first to accomplish. I really feel like a hectic rush to level up as fast as possible while trying to build up defenses AND prepare for an attack is just the kind of madhouse fun this game would be great for.

If you guys are interested, I'd be happy to get a balanced map ready and build everything up, assuming I'd just send it to Aethis or somebody to host. Since I think you're still only allowed one copy of each merchant, I could build a neutral zone in the middle with all the merchants there, and a trip to them would be risky indeed.

I wanna have some fun with my internet friends. :awesomedash:

I am definitely down with the idea of building a Colosseum on the server. One of the coolest things I ever saw was an aerial PVP fight where players drop from the top limit at the same time and fight each other with whatever they've got. Best of all, they don't get horseshoes. :nngh:

Speaking of a fresh run, v1.0.6 is coming, and if it's as the directors are hyping it to be, the game is going to be even harder than it was in the last release.

They've already made 4 posts regarding it so far in the Dev Blog, which is more than any other update yet. For those who haven't perused through them and rather not sift through a few paragraphs of text, here's a quick summary of what caught my eye:
    - Changes to the Interface (Loot all, Quick Stack, etc.)
    - Readjusting the damage-output to reflect more variety (Different damage types, criticals, etc.)
    - Actual Status Ailments (Poison, darkness, curse, I'M ON FIRE ARRRGH)
    - Overhaul of the Mana system (more emphasis on total mana as opposed to regeneration)
    - Numerous major-minor changes ("Potion sickness," changes to the bonuses of some armor sets, dungeon exploration, etc.)

Essentially, if the last few versions were built around balancing the game in its current format, this one's oriented around making it viable for new future additions and an overall more challenging rewarding experience.

I'm not sure if we're going to receive any of those "endgame" tier items or bosses as promised with later 1.1 releases (also in development), but this is sounding to be a pretty good update to create new characters for spelunking with, especially if it's "about 150% more difficult" as Blue reckons it to be.

And I haven't seen it posted here yet, so here's a map editor to help those with ambitious projects in mind, be it world-spanning PvP arenas, underground oceans, or for turning the surface into a water-flooded apocalyptia.
It's a bit temperamental, so try to keep each edit you make "sane," relatively speaking.

Finally, after a month of waiting, 1.0.6 has a release date: Tommorow! :pinkietoot:
Ya know, just in case you guys still play this game and are willing to set something up.

Here's a list o' things of what to expect from the official wiki, and a slightly more spoilery log of changes posted by someone on SA.

A lot of old mechanics have been reworked around it seems, so it should be a pretty interesting experience for all this time around.
And I actually liked the falling mud and ash blocks. :fluttersmith:

Edit:

Hellstone now spawns lava when it is mined, but only in the underworld.

I think I'd rather have the old lava slimes back. Image

Pretty disappointing list for such a long wait. I hope they go back to shorter release cycles with more focused content updates.
