Ahahaha oh my god that intro, it looks like a PMV. Great find.

I speak Spanish so I understand about 40 to 90% of what's being said, depending on a number of factors, most importantly that I watched the episode a thousand times. The translation seems to be good enough. I like Twilight's voice; Spike's, not so much. (Granny Smith's voice is exactly the same as in English, interestingly enough.) Overall, I think it's a good dub.

It's ironic how the original intro features early animation from around the time of the pilot while this intro takes material from all of S1.
Also how all that careful phoneme matching is jacked, while in a cheaper show, say G3, there is nowhere near the attention paid to mouth movements.

I'm not surprised they did a new intro for Italy. It's been a tradition for any cartoons (usually anime) imported to that country to have the theme song totally redone since the '70s.

I know a bit of Italian. I think Applejack has a Southern Italian accent (That's the accent that when converted to english becomes 'My-a cousin Luigi') While the other characters have the much more neutral Northern Italian accent (Sounds like an average latin-based accent in english) I could be wrong though because I'm not that great at Italian. :nnngh:

Nightmare moon has a great voice in that dub though gosh. It's pretty much the same as the english one.

...And here's the other half of the first episode in Italian. Which introduces Rarity, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie and Nightmare Moon.

Pinkie's VA wasn't horrid but she doesn't seem capture the general hyperness of Pinkie...

Official French dubs are being posted here . There are 3 episodes so far. Can't get over how different Twilight sounds. The opening song doesn't sound too good either. Why can't they find people who can actually sing? For example, Italian Pinkie Pie is so off-key when she sings "Giggle at the Ghosties", it's downright embarassing.

French rainbow dash is higher pitched than pinkie pie for some reason.

Other things worth mentioning: "All the ponies in this town are CRAZY" has been translated differently between the first time, and the recap in the second episode.

And "Wonderbolts" in episode 1 vs "Flèches de l'air" in episode 3.

And pinkie pie is the element of "Dérision" which is the "making fun of someone or something, in a negative way" kind of laughter.

When referring to Rainbow Dash, Twilight says "Un pégase", spike says "Il est incroyable!",inferring that Rainbow Dash is male.

I'm normally terrible at French but somehow I understand these well.

I liked the Italian intro, it felt like an anime. The whole thing had an anime feel, with the slightly imperfect word syncing and everything.

I think the problem is that Pinkie's voice in the original is really High-pitched, with this dub's VA not matching makes it look really out of place because of how much Pinkie talks in a short segment.

But man, that Nightmare Moon Voicework was spot on, it was REALLY good.

I also really liked the newer Intro, I wish there would be more of them but oh well.

Since it seems that The Ticket Master is the choice sample episode, here's the first part of the Italian dub for it:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQp_0JrMqbA

If anyone's curious, the other two episodes that make up the second half of The Mare in the Moon is also up.

Again, I don't speak Italian so I can't judge how well it's been dubbed, but I did notice that the Wonderbolts in Rainbow's imagine spot have an audible gasp, and Rarity's "YES" is softer. Minor, but that's what I noticed.

French episodes up to The Show Stoppers are up, and, eh, I don't know.

Some of the singing voices are so different from the regular voices, fluttershy's in particular.

And the song lyrics are so different from what you would expect. Not as many rhymes.

Wow, I really liked how PixieNyanChan's hebrew and LyralioRC Brazilian portugese fandubs sounded. I wish happytreegirl111 had a better microphone; the voice actors on those spanish fandubs sounded pretty good.
The official Latin American spanish dub's not too bad, but whenever I hear Applejack speak I think of La Chilindrina from El Chavo del Ocho for some reason.

By the way, the xheartlessx3 and TheMlplover videos have been taken down.

Thanks for the heads-up! I've sort of given up on keeping this list actively up to date; I just sort of add new things I run into these days.

LatAm Applejack doesn't sound so much like a specific character to me but more like a generic old Mexican lady for some reason. :pinkieshrug: It's interesting how the local 'accent' depends almost exclusively on her intonational pattern more than the actual phonetics. Everyone else still sounds clearly Mexican to my ears, though growing up with the washed-down accent I'm used to it.

In other news, I just found this European Spanish clip from Boast Busters. I find the voices worse than the other Spanish dub, but then I'm probably biased. Oh, and I also found the full first ep. Even the video description disses the voice acting. :ohgawd:

And for the super-lazy browsers, here's a useful, fun and healthy video comparison of a bit from Ticket Master in 12 languages.

I guess I should post these since I kinda already posted links to the other italian episodes...

Episode 6 (second half of The Ticket Master)
Episode 7 (first half of Applebuck Season)
Episode 8 (second half of Applebuck Season)
Episode 9 (first half of Griffon the Brush Off)
Episode 10 (second half of Griffon the Brush Off)

Still not sure how well Big Macintosh or Gilda sounded dubbed, but it seems like Gilda uses gratuitous english and refers to Pinkie Pie as "Stinkie Pie"... or at least that's what it sounds like.

Well, the taunts (Stinkie Pie, Rainbow Crash, or any of the Bridle Gossip nicknames) are terribly difficult to translate. It doesn't help that the actual names of ponies don't sound natural in any language other than English, so it's hard to make them into some recognizable words in the target language.

What he means is that "Rainbow" and "Dash" are literally just two actual nouns stuck together, and "dash" in particular is a word that rhymes with tons of others, so English puns galore. If, however, the ponies were named things like Valnf Svmeckgni, it would be harder to make puns off them in English.

Today the first German episode was broadcasted on Nickelodeon Germany.
Episode 1 Part 1
Episode 1 Part 2

After we already knew the rather bad opening, most German Bronies were surprised, that the actual dub is much better than expected.

Spike got a quite famous VA, many fans wished for. While he doesn't sound like the English Spike he does a great job.
Twilight Sparkle has a good VA as well, nothing special, but quite fitting.
Applejack doesn't have any accent, she speaks High German and uses some colloquial speech. I personally like her voice and don't care that she doesn't speak with an American accent (that usually sounds silly in German anyway).
Rainbow Dash sadly has the worst voice. It's not the way how the VA speaks her, but the fact that she sounds several years older than the other ponies.
Rarity has a great voice as I think, very fitting.
Personally I like Fluttershy's voice, I think it sounds very cute. But I heard from many German Bronies that she doesn't sound cute enough.
Pinkie Pie has a very good voice despite the fact that her style is different from the English VA.
Appleblooms voice is considered too old as well, but we only heard one sentence until now.
The other voices are all fine (Nightmare Moon's is especially liked).

The German dub should catch up soon as there are 5 new episodes every week.
Here are the first three songs Pinkie Pie sings in German:

Giggle at the ghostly/Grinse wenn's dich gruselt
The Grand Galloping Gala/Die große Galloping Gala *Actually it is called "Prachtvolle Galloping Gala" in German, but she sings "große Galloping Gala" to match the rhythm.
