Wait did they do Aria then or was Adagio the only one released in that format?

Sonata in a Taco Truck - given they have a food truck mold now - not happening is a crime against humanity.
Adagio is the only one of the three. It's really weird how the Dazzlings are super popular yet beyond the EqG mainline dolls they got, Adagio is the only one who got another toy at all, let alone a well done EqG mini.RIP Syndrome wrote: ↑Sun Feb 11, 2018 6:43 pm

It's worth remembering that Rainbow Rocks is three and a half years old at this point. I suppose Hasbro figures that there'd be better opportunity for selling toys in the long run by making new characters and then making toys of them.

Are kids completely different from back when I was one?
Cos I rewatched the shit out of everything I liked all the time, because most kids shows were pretty terrible back then, unless you had satellite TV and dedicated cartoon channels

Excuse you, the sea horse monster looks are great.
Also I agree, I really wish there would be minis for the other two Dazzlings. Never say never, though - Some stuff from the show got toys several years later for some godforsaken reason, so there might be hope yet.

Really tho I don't think kids would go "eugh this is like, four years old, I'm not buying this", they'd probably go "new toys". I mean it's not like Brad is relevant in any way or form anymore either but I assume his toy still sells

Ironically...Brad doesn't really HAVE a toy. The EqG mini you saw in my collection? That was a wave 1 only figure which is at least a year old by now, he's never had another toy release.RIP Syndrome wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2018 7:58 pmReally tho I don't think kids would go "eugh this is like, four years old, I'm not buying this", they'd probably go "new toys". By the same token, Adagio *did* get a Mini despite being several years past her last major appearance. Plus, NY Toy Fair is this weekend, there is always a chance Wave 4 could have some surprises yet.

Re: Play with Ponies: The Pony Toy Thread (REVENGANCE EDITION)
One of the hardest Brushies to track down for a decent price, I finally have obtained...OCTAVIA!
Snagged her for like $20 plus shipping on eBay from a seller in China, without the EqG doll. Her molding lines are rather noticeable - signs of mold wear of course - and the heavy presence of pink does take away from the idea this is Octavia slightly, but given I doubt a true black-and-gray version will ever come out at this point, I've decided to settle for this one. Might see about giving her the signature bow tie at some point.
But the original musical duo ponies - despite not appearing in the same episode until episode 100 - are finally together again.
All the musical ponies! There's been a surprising number of them, even discounting the fact I have a duplicate Lyra.
The alternate six...sans Doctor Whooves, who Second Lyra is standing in for.
Octavia and Funrise BIGtavia. I don't have the even bigger Funrise Octavia, regretably, but this way I at least have a normal appearance version of Octavia.

Also, that 10-pack is going to be hell to find, but as much as I don't like buying doubles, I also need that Luna - the only accurately colored one there's ever been.
A bit disapointed they aren't making more EqG minis, though. As the above discussion touched on, the fact they never made minis of Aria Blaze and Sonata Dusk is downright CRIMINAL.

Re: Play with Ponies: The Pony Toy Thread (REVENGANCE EDITION)
Somebody on another thread who is trying to locate the brushie Songbird Serenade was wondering how big she was, so given I actually own Songbird myself, I took some size comparison images. Spoiler alert: Songbird is thinner and more "lithe" than pretty much your typical brushie mare but height wise, ignoring the giant hair bow she's the same height as the normal brushies.
Though it did lead to this interesting image:
You have GOH Spitfire, Movie Twilight, Brushie Derpy, Movie Songbird, and "articulated" Coco Pommel. They're all roughly about the same size (Spitfire the glaring exception, all the GoH figures of female characters are slightly larger than a brushable equivelent), but despite keeping to about the same size, the change in how they look is rather interesting. Especially Coco, given how she's the middle step of progression between the static brushables and the excellent GoH figures.

Target has some kind of commemorative series of G1 MLP horsies for the 35th anniversary. I didn’t get a pic but the end cap had Butterscotch and Blue Belle.
Gave them a pass because I don’t buy the toys any more, but I thought maybe someone else would want to know.

Took a picture of my two Cheerilee figures today:
The normal brushie on the left is from the original CMC + Cheerilee 4 pack, one of the earliest ponies I got. The one on the right is the 2nd wave Happy Meal Cheerilee, scuffed and missing her comb, but probably the most unique pieces within my entire toy collection as I encountered her in a pool complex and only through my mischevious little niece shoving the toy into my camera bag constantly did I unintentionally end up bringing her home with me. Glad I did though, she's a cutie for sure.

So, longshot, but I'm looking to see if I can potentially acquire a very odd knockoff:
I think it's Finnish in origin - the file name certainly implies as much - but since we have some members in that part of the world (and by that I mean geographically on the same land mass on the same side of the Atlantic), maybe somebody will know more about this oddity.

Re: Play with Ponies: The Pony Toy Thread (REVENGANCE EDITION)
Went to the local Big Lots bright and early hoping to find some high quality G4 knock offs (same place where years back I acquired my pair of unique 'Duobots'). Disapointingly, they only had one box of G1 MLP KOs and while they looked great, I don't collect G1.
However, amusingly enough the actual legit stuff was more rewarding.
Since I've been gunning for expanding my herd with the background pony toys when I can (still need a Suri Polomare and Daring Do *grumble grumble*), these ladies certainly fit the bill. Sapphire Joy has a speaking role back in the Crystal Empire episodes (she's the one who talks about how the Crystal Ponies don't remember much other than Sombra's reign of terror due to the curse), while Sea Swirl has appeared in the background often enough. Meadow Flower I don't know if she's even in the show - her box art is different in pose compared to the other two, and a recolor of Blossomforth no less - but she's also a Pegasus and of the three types (excluding Alicorns for obvious reasons), they're actually the rarest and more Pegasi for the collection is always good.
And here they are in the collection - had to move Shiny and Cady to the open space right behind them and 'Fashem's' Sweetie Belle/stand-in Flurry Heart on top of Cady to keep her visible. I'll have to seriously start thinking about risers as I truly am running out of front row shelf space for the ponies.

Re: Play with Ponies: The Pony Toy Thread (REVENGANCE EDITION)
My pony lot from eBay has arrived.
And the seller took a HUGE loss on this given the shipping on this box was insane if the label was accurate - significantly more than what was listed as shipping on ebay!.
These are the 'extra' figures (along with a de-winged, de accessorized GoH Twilight who ironically HAS painted teeth) - aside from some obvious ones like a de-horned Celestia from I THINK the original five-figure box set and the Wave 2 Twilight mini (I think), I have no idea what ponies these are and I need help identifying them.
And the piece de resistance!
Been a while since I handled a genuine knock off, but this one is noticeably different in plastic quality AND her doll hair is a bit on the thinner side, but she's a real gem.
Oh, yeah, and THIS was in the box, too...
There was only one solution to save the Earth from this monstrosity.
