One of the coolest aspects of this fandom is all the music that's come of it! Not wanting to flood the non-pony music thread with pony music, and feeling that Pony Fan Videos! is more for PMVs and such, I wanted to make a thread to share and talk about pony fan songs & remixes with each other. If such a thread exists, feel free to merge this post into the other topic.

Let's just say it's a lot of pony. They update it every week with more, too! Obviously there's some great and some bad - it is literally an attempt at getting everything in one place.

I originally shied away from everything that wasn't a remix, but I've since changed that! Here's a few of what I've been listening to lately that I thought I'd share! Oh where to start... :dearcelestia:

RAINBOW DASH - Electric Feel Cover (MGMT)

I actually can't say I'd heard the original prior, but I absolutely love this song now.

MrCoffeeWings - Vengeance In My Eyes ("Luna" remix)

I love this song so much. :3: It's a nice remix of Luna, but I feel it concentrates more on the NMM side of Luna.

Eurobeat Brony befriends NotACleverPony - Lower The Moon (Eurobeat Descent)

A remix of a fan song based on Luna (we need a flashing pinkie pie that says :fanon: heh), I discovered this earlier and it's pretty amazing.

WoodenToaster - She's a Pony (remix)

Should be pretty self explanatory. :v:

DJ Alex S - Party with Pinkie

This song owns. That is all.

Super Ponybeat - Call Upon the Seaponies

Shoo be doo! I agree with HenryPlainview, this one needs a vocal mix.

I actually write music for a living, and I've been tinkering with the idea of doing an arrangement of Winter Wrap-Up. The problem for me is all my time spent in the studio is working on stuff I'm being paid for, leaving very little time to work on my own personal stuff. I realize that I'm extremely fortunate to be this busy, but I want to work on pony songs, damn it! :applejargh:

Maybe when things slow down, I'll be able to write it, but that probably won't be for a few more months. :fluttersmith:

I've been trying to mix all three copies of FTNLR into a mega mix, and it started ok, but the levels keep on messing with me, in that I overpower one track with the other two. My best effort so far is here.

Since it hasn't been mentioned in this specific thread just yet it seems, remixer RainbowCrash88 has several "8-bit" covers of many of the songs and background themes from the show, and as recently as a few days ago has started posting more now that the computer (she? dunno) that they're being composed on has been fixed:
The Crusaders Go Crusading (8-Bit)
Pinkies Parasprite Polka (8-Bit)
The Best Place For Me (8-Bit)

This is also the remixer working on the music for Fighting is Magic, and has posted the full version of the theme for Applejack's stage today, with the others to follow as the characters are revealed.

Hah, when I started creating pony related stuff I entertained the idea of making a progressive breakbeat remix of the theme song A LOT.
Turns out videos take up more time than I'll ever be able to estimate... Think I'll tinker with Reason when Applejack's trailer is finished.

A short piano piece that very slightly reminds me of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, but since it's dedicated to Luna that could also be the cause.
If anything it has given me the urge to learn the piano again.
Don't bother looking for more music by this dude, I don't think there is any.

If they pull off the rest of the music as well as that, I will be so so so happy.
Fighting is Magic and BBCSE are having quite a competition vying for my attention... thing is, one of them is free, and on the computer, and is ponies, while the other one has deeper gameplay, but is for consoles (haven't touched my Xbox in ages), and costs $60. And isn't ponies.
So Fighting is Magic will probably be my go-to fighting game when it comes out.

There was some discussion about this in the PMV thread earlier, with both positive and negative feedback.
I do think it has some pretty noticeable flaws, but all in all I like it. Quite a bit better than their older stuff, IMO.

I'm a bit of a neat freak when it comes to organizing my music and as such I barely have that many songs what with all of the remix wars/collaborations, etc. That said, some of the stuff that's been put out has blown me away (Alex S, Not a Clever Pony, Pinkie Pie Swear, RainbowCrash88) I can't help but download a ton of songs, organization be damned!

That's what I like about it. It's like Peanut Butter and Peanut Butter mixed together with a liberal topping of more Peanut Butter making good peanut butter, but more of it!

As for the drum, I can only do so much about it without throwing the song off of rhythm. I really mad about that bell that got in the middle of the piano solo since it never showed up in any of the roughs, but I've wasted enough time toying with this thing in the first place.
