It serves as a wonderful commentary. The challenges of recreating a classic using a contemporary mass produced rubber chicken echo of the challenges of rebooting beloved TV series using modern production and animation techniques. Where this rebooting normally draws criticism by those who revere their beloved TV series, the rubber chicken shows us that recreating a classic using modern techniques can create something beautiful if only we embrace the spirit of the new medium: if we let go of our reverance of the classics and allow ourselves to enjoy the irreverence of seeing them recreated in modern plastic form.
