I'm really behind when it comes to watching movies in theaters. The last one I saw before "Spider-Verse" was "Zootopia", I think, which came out 2 years ago.

Also, Cartoon Brew is the absolute worst. I don't think I ever saw any animation professional say good things about the site :-I

At my current rate, I see movies in theaters only about once a year. In 2016 it was Zootopia, in 2017 it was the MLP Movie, and this year it was Fahrenheit 11/9. All of them I saw either the day or the weekend of their opening.

I watch almost every Marvel movie with my friends, as well the Star Wars and some other exceptions.
The last movie I wanted to go to was The Incredibles 2 but thanks to a heavily delayed release date and my cinema not providing the English version I stayed at home. Before that it was Ant-Man and The Wasp but it got delayed because some stupid Football (Soccer) championship.

I haven't watched a movie in a couple of years because I'm starting to worry that people might think I'm weird seeing movies alone.

I get taken to whatever my brother wants to see, which is usually superhero movies and Star Wars. That kind of distorts my perception on what’s being released every year somewhat. They’re all right, and sometimes are lots of fun, but most of my movie watching is done at home where I can get a bit more variety. I wait for things to show up on Amazon or at my library for free :-I

Word up.

I prefer to wait till friends are in town to catch flicks, but I've gone alone and it's nothing to be self-conscious about. Take my word for it, nobody else is observing you; they came to watch a show. And the show is not you, nor any other theatergoers, the show is Tom Hardy or, occasionally, a CGI voiced by Tom Hardy.

The only time people have looked at me funny for going to a movie alone was when I got a free pass to Shrek 2, and the only other people in the theater were a mother and daughter, and it turned out that the mother thought I was someone she knew :-I

I don’t think anyone minds.

My one good deed: After the "Spider-Verse" movie ended, I told a grandmother and her grandkids who were about to leave that there's a bonus scene after the credits, so they stuck around for that.

Given how hilarious the end-credits scene was, I'm glad I told them.

I've had an extremely busy and productive Christmas season so far. I painted the walls and ceiling of my living room and dining room. I put in a new range hood over my stove. I installed a new garage door opener yesterday. Today after work I'm going to be assembling a snowblower. And tomorrow morning I'm having my carpets steamcleaned.

At which point I need to put all of the furniture back in the living room and dining room and try to take some pictures.

Also I cooked Christmas dinner yesterday and it was the best thing ever and I'm still full, standing rib roast, potatoes, au jus, and then I crisped up some brussel sprouts in a frying pan.

I tried to watch He-Man and The Masters of The Universe out of morbid curiosity. It's unwatchable. The amount of stupid plot, horrifying animation errors, and information out of nowhere are too overwhelming to enjoy. I don't want to begin with all the awkward traced animations and weird editing cuts.
Oh boy... When I was younger I used to like that show. :-I

The level of technology at the Red Cross blood drives is bewildering. The computer they used to input my information was clearly a nearly-new laptop with the current Windows logo on its keyboard and a touch screen, but it was running Windows XP somehow. I couldn't even get XP to install on my off-the-shelf desktop computer from 2007. I don't know whether to be impressed or horrified.

I mean, I should definitely be horrified, because it's bound to be a security nightmare. They probably store sensitive medical information about their donors. And their recipients...

That's Filmation :v:

He-Man had 65 episodes for each of its two seasons, and the show was entirely animated in-house without outsourcing. I can only imagine the kind of workload they had to make 130 episodes in 2 years.

It really is amazing how many episodes some cartoons were expected to churn out in such a short time. Animaniacs had 65 episodes in their first season too. You'd never see a sitcom try to manage that kind of schedule, even though live action is a lot easier to produce that quickly. Then again, you'd never see a sitcom that airs five days a week in its initial run either.

All I wanted to say is: despite all of its accomplishments back in the day it is not a pleasant endeavor to try to rewatch.
I did it with Thundercats and it went more smoothly until I got bored to death around the 90th episode (out of the total of 130 episodes).
Maybe I'll skip She-Ra entirely and jump to Bravestarr or another series I watched when I was young like Saber Rider And The Star Sheriffs.

She-Ra has at least a way more interesting world and backstory, it's just of course barely used at all because it's also still a cheapo toy cartoon :v: The reboot just does waaaaaaay better with all of it

The She-Ra reboot got me to rewatch He-Man in the first place. I also binge-watched the last season of Voltron Legendary Defender and all of the animated series I watch have currently no new episodes. So I'm craving for some animated content.

As with "Tiny Toon". Although unlike "He-Man", they outsourced production for those Warner Bros. shows to multiple studios around the world with mixed results.

Even then, though, producing large number of episodes in such a short time is no easy task, regardless of how it's made.

However, I recall one He-Man that stood out as unusually ... good?

There was an episode where Man-at-Arms gets petrified and He-Man and Teela visit a cynical dragon to get him cured. And the dragon says he’ll do it, but only if they promise to go chop down a particular tree he hates because it’s the only thing more ancient than him, and ... anyway, for just one episode there’s like, emotional depth and ambiguity and things that real actual stories for humans have.

I always wonder if that’s one of the eps Paul Dini worked on.

Kennedy Cartoons and Tokyo Movie, right? Of all the studios that worked on "Tiny Toons", those two are the ones everybody notice.

EVERYBODY DO THE KENNEDY DANCE :twonk:

Most recently, OK KO did their own parody of the dance in one of the episodes

Oh my gosh thank you for this 30-year-old nostalgia hit. :memories:

There’s a lot of unmemorable guff in act 2 which I didn’t remember, but once Granamyr the dragon shows up, things turn around. He’s such a great character.

:black101: “Granamyr does not fight humans, Granamyr wins.”

At least from the halfway point on, this is so good. :good:

Also IIRC Granamyr reappears in a later episode.

Here comes a sentence I didn’t think I’d ever type: I enjoyed Bumblebee. Like, after 10 years of total garbage, my expectations were admittedly as low as they could go, but it’s a good, entertaining movie, without qualifiers like “for a Transformers movie.”

Hailee Steinfield carries the whole thing and she is very good, but Bumblebee actually gets a character arc and development and is likable. Both of these things are new to Tansformers movies.
