Yeah, I especially love the ponies this episode will be about, but I try to be apprehensive to avoid suffering letdowns. If there still isn't a song by this point though, I'm going to sperg on DA about the show's ruining, make some LEAVING PONIES FOREVER claim, then come back to them within a week be pretty sad.

This could be either the best, or the saddest and best episode ever. I'll be very disappointed if Sweetie Belle doesn't get a song, but I'm sure we can at least expect some great sisterly love between the best sisterly couple, for love is the fluid that beats through our collective hearts. :ohboy:

My prediction (warning: wall of text) -

Sweetiebelle, after witnessing a particularly heartwarming moment between AJ and Applebloom, grows slightly jealous of them. But rather act all bitter about it, she decides it's time to strenghten her sisterly bond with Rarity. After talking to a certain pink pony, Sweetie decides the best way to accomplish her goal would be to throw a party celebrating the magic of siblinghood. Rarity accepts Sweetie's invitation, but due to her workaholic nature and tight deadlines, she all but forgets about the party. The next day Sweetiebelle confronts Rarity, expressing dissappointment and eventually anger towards her older sister by calling her ''the worst sister ever'' and running away, tears in her eyes. Rarity is shocked at first and it takes a second for her to realize just what exactly has she done to her lil sis. A single tear flows down her cheek as she whispers her sister's name.

After running away from Ponyville, Sweetiebelle decides that she needs a new sister, and the best place to find a unicorn sister is Canterlot. On the way to her destination she meets several unicorn mares, but none of them seems to be interested in having a little sister. Eventually, Sweetie is approached by a traveling blue unicorn. Little filly, being awed by the mysterious mare and her unusual attire, asks if she could become her sister and promptly tells the story of what happened in Ponyville. After a brief moment of pondering, adult unicorn accepts Sweetie as her new little sister and asks her for her name. Sweetie responds and in turn asks for the same. The blue unicorn presents herself as none other than The Great and Powerful Trixie. Moments later, Trixie notices the lack of a cutie mark on the litte filly's flank and quickly fixes that with her (illusory) magic. Sweetiebelle is overjoyed and proclaims Trixie to be "The best sister ever"!

Meanwhile in Ponyville, Rarity cannot find her little sis and is getting more and more nervous and paranoid. She asks her friends for help and they form a search and rescue party to find the missing filly. Searching the outskirts of Ponyville, they meet with two unicorns - Heartstrings and Berryshine, who inform them about a little unicorn filly travelling the road to Canterlot. The Main Six immediately head for the capitol of Equestria. Thanks to the exeptional tracking skills displayed by AJ, they are able to follow the barely visible trail and soon find themselves at the door to a very strange and unusual place called "The Garden of Mirrors". Twilight explains that the place was created as a training grounds for unicorns skilled in illusory magic, but it's been abandoned for years. The group heads in and is immediately assaulted by unpleasant visions appearing in mirrors. Fluttershy hides from giant dragons, Twilight is being scolded by Celestia etc etc. Even Rarity is greeted with upleasant images of her being dressed in the most atrocious clothing ever. But with her mind focused on finding her little sis, the visions have no effect.

Eventually, thanks to her willpower, Rarity is able to reach her sister. Shocked to discover that Trixie is behind all of this, she challenges her, but is promptly confronted by Sweetiebelle. The sisters start arguing just as the rest of the gang finally comes out of the mirror maze. Rarity and Sweetiebelle finnaly reconcile after Trixie admits that the cutie mark she gave Sweetie is fake. Twilight confronts Trixie about the whole situation, who then calls Rarity a fool for not realizing just how lucky she is having a sister like Sweetiebelle, and for not seeing her true potential. After her speech, Trixie vanishes in a puff of smoke and the main six together with Seetiebelle start heading back for Ponyville.

On their way back, Sweetie mentions that Trixie tried to teach her weird things, such as proper stage presence, stance and interaction with audience, and that she has no idea why exactly would she need those skills in the first place.

Oh and there's a final lesson in there somewhere.

The best possible thing is if we actually get to see Rarity and Sweetie's mom or dad, but that probably won't happen.

From the episode description, I'm expecting more "tears of rage" instead of complete sadness.

This right here is why Sweetie Belle is one of my favorites. This line was so heartfelt and adorable and relatable. I am happy about a Sweetie Belle episode (I mean, I'm happy about ANY pony episode but, you know what I mean).

Yeah they could have easily kept the CMC's clustered together like this, I'm glad they decided to develop the characters in more than one direction.

It's weird. Between the scheduling (two weeks on, two weeks off, two weeks on, one week off) and the fact that three of the four episodes so far have been "themed," it feels like the season's finally starting in earnest. But admittedly that's mostly because we're getting at least five straight weeks of :ponydrugs:

For any old timers here, I'm guessing there'll be a break around Christmas, right?

I'm not expecting serious emotional trauma, but this setup does sound like it could give material for a :rarismith: or :rage-ity:.

What would the lesson be this time?
That we should take into consideration the schedules of others, and to be understanding when plans don't work out?
That getting along with a sibling or friend does not mean everything is perfect. Even when someone doesn't meet expectations, it doesn't mean they love you any less?

I actually wonder, based on the description of this episode, who will be in the 'wrong' and has to learn a lesson: Rarity, for ditching her sister, or Sweetie Belle, for planning something without considering her sister. The summary is a little ambiguous. I like that.

Or maybe they're both in the 'wrong' and we will have an 'everybody laughs' ending about how silly everybody was acting. If there's only one thing I kind of don't like about many episode ends it's the 'oh ha ha everybdoy laughs' part because to me it kind of devalues what we've learned as 'o ponies, y so silly?' :ohrarity:

I'm really excited for family conflict though. As somebody who owns a slave has a younger sibling, I think I'll really feel this episode if it goes well.

Twilight ends up being in the wrong for not consulting the correct book to solve her friends' problem. She ends up getting sent to magic kindergarten while Rarity and Sweetie Belle receive medals for their science fair project: a baking soda volcano.

I mentioned this a while back, but it does look like they are attempting to follow the exact same schedule as last year, only with 24 episodes instead of 26. In season one they took about a month off in January, so I have to guess they'll do that again. They'll also need to add one additional week at some point to even it out though.

One year ago today was the first time Applebuck Season aired.
