Got my second ever hat trick today. :yay:

I tried going five-hole on a breakaway, but the goalie got down in time and the rebound went right to my teammate, who passed it back to me. I stick handled from my backhand wayyy outside to my forehand and just got the puck around the goalie's skate for the first one. The second was a one-timer off a pass from behind the net. It hit the top of the goalie's right pad and flopped over the line. The third was short-side that hit the post and snuck past the goalie's shoulder and in. One of my best games ever. Feels good. :scootatrue:

They were good seats, and it was an exciting game at least. Ducks won in the last minute.

The only time I ever got a seat in the lower bowl at Bridgestone Arena was one time a few years ago when I gave blood in exchange for free preseason tickets. It got so loud down there that I wish I'd brought earplugs.

:rainbert: I wanted the Avs to get 4 points from the Blackhawks this weekend, not 3.

Blackhawks should just be losing out to help their draft position, honestly

But maybe the other teams will be idiots again and let a player like Alex Debrincat fall to us way late in the draft like they did in 2016.

Your well wishes are well appreciated. :smirk:

Not that I have much room for smuggery after we got thrashed 5-0 by the Jets the other day, nor especially high hopes for these playoffs. However, at least this time around I'll be more likely to get to see some of the games since I won't be in Germany (and thus not waking up to the final minutes of each game in that weird-ass series against the Jets) as I was last May.

I was rooting for the Blackhawks, then I saw one of their announcers doing and absolutely awful Harry Caray impression, and now I'm not sure it's worth it...

They lost in OT, but it was still a super fun game. The Hawks tied it up when they pulled their goalie with like 90 seconds left in regulation. I also got a great view of a bunch of goals, as well as Crawford blocking a penalty shot.

I had easily my best league game of the season. We won 4-0, I had a goal and an assist, and for the first time I really felt like I was in the right place for most of the game. :yay:

One thing I'm noticing about 10pm games is all the refs want to go home, so they swallow their whistles, even for the most blatant of calls. Several times the other team chucked it from behind their own goal to the opposite end of the ice and they'd wave off icing. Another time, my teammate with the puck got tripped from behind and the ref didn't call it. But he did give the guy who got tripped two minutes for jawing at the ref about it.

The Central's a complete logjam but we came in hot in the home stretch and somehow we squeaked out on top, getting home ice for at least the first two rounds. Not that I put too much hope in that, having won the President's Trophy last year and then choking at home against the Jets, with a very real possibility of facing them again in the second round.

I'm rooting for the Lightning just because that's the Beer League team I'm on. :v:

But really I'd be fine with any team except the Blues winning.

Dear NHL, 8:30 puck drops suck, please avoid them as I have to get up in the mornings. Thanks.

Dear Preds, let's do this.

Despite all the coach's challenge and goal review nonsense, the Islanders manage to pull off a win in OT.

Excellent :scheming:

The Lightning are in big trouble too, down 2-0, going into Columbus, and without Kucherov, who got suspended a game for a dirty hit.

I'm thinking I should drive up to Kentucky, find Yarma, and give him a sympathy hug.

Then I should continue on to Ohio, find Dexanth, and drag her off to see the Bolts get owned.
