I stopped playing MTG when 5th edition came out, and today I learned there are over 130 keywords now.

Thanks to Future Sight, some exist on singular cards like Aura Swap, Gravestorm, Fortify, Transfigure, and Absorb.

Also Poisonous and creature type-cycling are on two cards each and five have Grandeur, also thanks to Future Sight.

Besides that, there are only three cards that meld with another one and eight with escalate because each have only appeared in Eldtrich Moon alone.

It also helps to remember Meld is a creature mechanic and Escalate is just a form of kicker, because those and split cards are the only three mechanics and everything else is just a spin-off.

That's why my favorite mechanics tend to be the ones that aren't just spinoffs of Kicker.

Like monarch, ascend, explore, parlay, investigate, embalm and proliferate.

embalm is flashback for creatures, and flashback is just another form of kicker, checkmate.

Not really, flashback is a recursion/alternate cost. Kicker is an add-on cost effect.

I love Meld, I wish they'd bring it back at some point. It's so fun to be mushing cards together to make ultra cards. It's something you got to do a lot in YuGiOh but it basically doesn't exist in magic outside of this.

Shadows over Innistrad and Eldritch moon might be my favorite expansions, they had lots of fun things like meld and transform and investigate and stuff.
