Yes, the cat is playing Shogi and moving a pawn to start to make room for its (only) rook to move. The only first move that's more popular would be the corresponding move for the bishop.

I'd say it's worth it to know the tarot. Good metaphors for events and feelings in life.

Note that all I know about Persona comes from Smash Bros., so maybe there's more to it than that.

the shoji social link is a pretty good one to do, the character swapping is handy and the follow-up attacks are really nice when they trigger and the escape stuff is nice i guess if you ever decide to run from a battle (but you never will). plus P5 is basically designed around you ambushing enemies and killing them before they get a chance to move so the perk that gives you double money for doing that is just free cash

I did, and IIRC they were drawn and assigned randomly? Toast could confirm this better than I can. Most I remember was knowing some of us had minor arcana cards(four suits, Ace through King), including mine which I think was the five of coins or something like that?
While minor arcana cards do have their own meanings in Tarot, they aren't as significant as those of the major arcana (the numbered ones with the individual names). Persona games only use the major arcana to directly link the themes of those cards to the side characters that you can interact with. All of the fictional/mythological figures that are used as personas are also sorted under all of the major arcana.

It always astonishes me how Spike Jones managed to make a sound similar to this while also leading a full band with individual instruments. There's a lot more that can go wrong with that many individuals but he made it work somehow.

Re: ITT Post Your Random Thoughts
One of my favorite blogs is Stripper's Guide (yeah yeah, laugh at the name), which covers comic strip history. Every other day the blog author showcases really obscure strips that usually didn't run very long.
Recently, he showcased a strip called "The Dumplings", a strip about an overweight couple drawn by a Disney artist. Kind of a "Mike and Molly" of the 1970s; the strip is surprisingly not mean-spirited with no awful fat jokes, which is refreshing (indeed, the strip's actually rather cute for the most part).
The strip was a bit of a flop, only running for 2 years in a small number of newspapers. In spite of that the strip somehow gained a live-action TV sitcom on NBC, produced by Norman Lear. The show was even more short-lived, getting cancelled after just 10 episodes.
Which made me realize, there's a surprising amount of obscure newspaper strips that managed to get adapted into different media. On top of my head, there was Jim Davis's other strip "U.S. Acres", which had a cartoon as part of a back-up segment on "Garfield and Friends". The strip only ran for 3 years, but the animated version managed to go on for 7 due to it being part of "Garfield"
Merriweather Williams (remember her?) showran at least one adult cartoon: "Free For All" on Showtime, which ran for 7 episodes. The show was based on a newspaper strip that only lasted one year in syndication.
And I don't know if "Over the Hedge" counts, since the comic is still running, but I'm willing to bet the Dreamworks movie is better known than the strip, unless your paper ran the comic when you were a kid.
And speaking of "Over the Hedge", the co-creator of that comic, Michael Fry, did another strip about dysfunctional family called "Committed". While the strip ran for 10 years, it was never hugely popular and not many papers ran it, making it even more obscure than "Hedge". But the strip later became an animated series that aired for one season in Canada.
Of course, as you may have noticed none of those shows ran very long with the exception of "U.S. Acres" (and even then, it was because it was riding on the coattails of the even more successful "Garfield")

The "Baby Blues" TV series was a much bigger flop, though. The strip is relatively popular, having been going since the early 1990s and running in just about every major newspaper. But the show had the misfortune of airing on the WB network, not even airing all of the completed episodes. It was later dumped to Adult Swim few years later, where the remaining episodes were shown.

The movie featured the main characters from the strip, but it also added new characters just for the adaptation. The comic made fun of the fact that the movie characters are not in the strip:

Re: ITT Post Your Random Thoughts
I was curious and decided to look into The Dumplings' creator Fred Lucky's IMDB page to see what exactly he worked on, and it's...impressive.
He was one of the writers for the Disney movie "The Rescuers" and he did a TON of storyboards. Not just for cartoons (such as "Scooby Doo" and "Goof Troop"), but also for a ton of live-action films like the "Rocky" and "Rambo" movies. He also worked on "Mulan" as well.
Fred Lucky wasn't very lucky (I'm so clever ) when both his comic strip and the TV version of it got cancelled after a very short time, but I have to say, the dude accomplished a lot in other ways.

I didn't even know there was a "Free Willy" cartoon (I probably glanced at it and figured he worked on the live-action film). Man, that was a weird period in cartoons, eh?
I remembered another comic strip-to-television adaptation: "Animal Crackers". The show was produced in Canada at Cinar/Cookie Jar and aired in the 'States on Fox Family in 1998. It was based on a comic strip that began in the 1960s and still appearing today.

I've been rewatching "All in the Family" lately. It's scary to imagine what Archie Bunker's Twitter would be like if it was around back then.
Also, the two-parter "Edith's 50th Birthday" scared the shit out of me when I first saw it as a teen, and that opinion still holds today.

Re: ITT Post Your Random Thoughts
You know, this show highlights just how important it is to hire the "right" actor for a role.
A character like Archie Bunker is really hard to pull off. He's a reactionary, loud-mouth bigoted asshole, not exactly the kind of person we want to see every week. But Carroll O'Connor did a REALLY good job playing him, creating one of the most memorable character in TV sitcoms.
All the characters in that show was cast well. Norman Lear really knew how to get the right actors a role.

Daikatuna's pretty decent, as much as anything that doesn't resist nuclear or fire can be.
Hard to get a grasp on what OU Uranium would look like, you know, without Nucleon and Inflagetah ruining the rest.
