Ryan K Lindsay at Oz Comic-Con Melbourne

Ryan K Lindsay, the writer of the Rainbow Dash issue of IDW’s My Little Pony Micro Series will be attending the Melbourne arm of Oz Comic Con at the Royal Exhibition Building from July 6th-7th. As a guest of the convention Ryan will be signing issues of his comic, so stop by and have a chat.

» Season 2, Volume 1 & Season 1 Boxset DVDs Released In Australia

Australian distributor Madman Entertainment have released the the first volume of Friendship Is Magic season 2 on DVD titled The Return of Harmony. The disk includes the first five episodes of the second season with the remainder of the season to be split up in four additional volumes. You can also purchase the Collector’s Edition Box, which comes with Volume 1 plus some extra goodies inside a sturdy cardboard case to house the entire season.

In addition to Season 2 Vol. 1, Madman have re-packaged the five volumes of Season 1 into a Boxset. All DVDs are in region 4, PAL format with 2.0 stereo and 5.1 Dolby surround sound.

Season 2, Volume 2 – Parties & Pets will be released on July 3rd. 

» Equestria Girls Premieres at LA Film Festival, Hits Select Cinemas


My Little Pony: Equestria Girls debuted at the Los Angeles Film Festival yesterday afternoon featuring a large event for kids and parents alike. Some of the talent behind the spinoff attended with Tara Strong (Twilight Sparkle), Cathy Weseluck (Spike), writer Meghan McCarthy and composer Daniel Ingram performing a few sing-alongs and book readings before the big premiere.

From today a limited theatrical run of the movie will screen at select cinemas around the country, you can find your local screening here. A DVD and Blu-ray will be released August 6th, 2013 and the movie will air on The Hub sometime this Autumn.

» MLP: FiM Wins Leo Award for Best Musical Score

There’s some good news for Daniel Ingram and Steffan Andrews, composers of Friendship is Magic from last night’s Leo Awards Ceremony, where the episode “Magical Mystery Cure” won the award for best musical score for an animation program.

Mentioned previously on TRS, the Leo Awards are yearly awards which recognize “excellence in film in television” and are awarded for series or films produced in British Columbia. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, produced in DHX Media’s Vancouver offices, had also received a nomination for Best Overall Sound Production for “Sleepless in Ponyville”.

» Everfree Northwest – Ponystock 2013 and Musical Guest Lineup

The Seattle based fan convention Everfree Northwest has announced the return of Ponystock 2013, a musical concert which has 20 performers taking part this year, including voice actress Michelle Creber.

The second Annual EFNW will be taking place next month from the 5th-7th July at the SeaTac Airport Hilton Hotel.

» BronyCon Pre-registration Deadline and Promo Video

BronyCon will be cutting off its pre-registration on July 15, 2013, for its event Aug. 2-4 in Baltimore, Md.

After July 15, prices will be increasing to $75 and will only be available at the door starting Aug. 2, the day the event begins. Pre-registration will allow you to pick up your badges a day early and beat the rush to get into the convention while saving yourself a few extra bits. » Season 2 Australian DVDs Dated, Season 1 Boxset

The second season of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic is about to see it’s Australian release on DVD starting this June thanks to Madman Entertainment. The season will once again be split into five volumes each containing five episodes (except Volume one, which has six) in chronological airing order. As with the first season release, each disk will be in region 4 PAL format with Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround and Stereo sound.

Volume 1, The Return of Harmony is up for pre-order now and will be hitting shelves on the 19th of June while Volume 2, Parties & Pets will be released July 3rd.

In addition you can now pre-order a limited Collector’s Edition box which comes with Volume 1 and some pony postcard designs (no Toy this time, although this has a lower pricepoint compared to the Season One Collector’s Box)

Madman have also bundled up all the Season One volumes into a single boxset, which will be available in store from June 19th or up for pre-order now.

» Bronies for Good Art Gallery and Charity Auction at GalaCon 2013

In an effort to showcase as much community talent as possible GalaCon will be hosting an art gallery full of submissions from the community at the convention in Ludwigsburg, Germany thus August.

Additionally, donations for items are being sought after for the charity auction at the convention, all proceeds go towards the Bronies for Good charity.
