2020 US Presidential Election thread

Post by Pocket (?) » Wed Feb 26, 2020 12:52 am

Let's kick it off with a bang, shall we?

In 2016, Donald Trump accused Hillary Clinton's campaign of paying people off to drum up support.

In 2020, his wannabe opponent Mike Bloomberg is actually doing it.

In 2016, Trump's cheerleaders in the media accused victims of violence of running false-flag operations to drum up sympathy.

In 2020, it looks like Mike Bloomberg has decided to start actually doing that too:

This is starting to be the equivalent of "there's always a tweet".

Fuck the DNC and fuck Bloomberg. It was so obvious the audience was bought by him at the latest debate when they booed Sanders for suggesting teachers be paid more and Warren when she asked why Bloomberg wouldn't release his tax returns. Oh yeah and tickets to be in the audience at the DNC debate cost between 2 and 3 thousand dollars apiece. :thunk:

Bloomberg is basically Trump Lite, but someone who is A) actually a billionaire instead of a pretend one and B) probably smart enough to be less blatant about his corruption. Imagine being such a bad candidate that Biden looks good by comparison.

Let it sink in that we have a frontrunner in the USA who self-identifies as a democratic socialist, and take Bloomberg running at all as a sign of progress. Because we finally have a candidate with strong enough support to actually threaten the sheer obscenity of his wealth, along with all of the other elites he represents.

He and Trump are both poised to fight dirty, but I'd like to think that even if either of them are successful, our population at large will grow ever more disenfranchised with billionaires and their sole objective of sabotaging our government to suit their own influence.

I understand why the message is this way, because antifa is supposed to be this terrible group causing harm to everyone. But some people in the chain/web of promotion really are pro fascism and this president is running on that.

Biden's response to police brutality was that they should "shoot them in the leg instead of the heart" and I find that to be a pretty apt metaphor when making the choice of who to vote for in November.
