[Villainous] You Poor Unfortunate Foals!

Villainous is a board game for 2-6 players, where you get to take control of one of six classic Disney Villains from the Animated Canon and try to bring their sinister plan to fruition while also working to stymie the other players' efforts.

The rules are pretty easy to learn, and are explained in the following video:


The game's web page also has the rule book available for free in .pdf format, though given how the .pdf is arranged it might be a bit confusing to try and muddle through. :-I

The cast of playable Villains consists of:

Prince John from Robin Hood. His goal is to start his turn with at least 20 Power.
Captain Hook from Peter Pan. His goal is to defeat Peter Pan at the Jolly Roger.
Jafar from Aladdin. His goal is to start his turn with the Magic Lamp at Sultan's Palace and Genie under his control.
Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty. Her goal is to start her turn with a Curse in all four locations in her Realm.
Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland. Her goal is to have a Wicket in all four locations in her Realm and successfully take a shot.
Ursula from The Little Mermaid. Her goal is to start her turn with the Trident and the Crown at Ursula's Lair.

I haven't had a chance to play an actual game myself yet, but I'd still like to try moderating a play by post game if there's anyone out there interested in giving it a spin. I don't have any images of the cards or boards, so this will be done through text, like the old Battlestar Galactica games we used to do here a few years back.

So if you're interested, go ahead and post ##I'm bad, and that's good! I'm looking for at least 3 players, but I'm willing to go all the way to 6 if enough people want to play. Once we have all of our players, I'll assign a random turn order, people can pick their Villain and we can get started.

I find it hard to learn games through play by post but if you say it's fairly easy I might give it a spin. Would love at least 3 players though.

Terribly sorry for the delay of game here. I wanted to get this started when I got home from work today, but was unfortunately roped into babysitting my brother's kids, which basically killed all my free time this afternoon. Nevertheless, starting hands and villain guides will be sent out shortly, and we'll be ready to begin!

A quick reminders about the Villain Objectives, the turn sequence, playing Condition cards, and the Fate Token.

Villain Objectives

Queen of Hearts must play and convert Card Guards into Wickets, move them as needed so she has at least one Wicket at each location in her Realm, and play Take the Shot.
Prince John must collect Power so he has at least 20 Power.*
Ursula must play the Trident and the Crown, move them as needed so she has them at her Lair, and defeat King Triton.*
Jafar must unlock the Cave of Wonders, play the Magic Lamp, hypnotize Genie, and move the Magic Lamp to Sultan's Palace.*

*These Villains can only win at the start of their turn.

Turn Sequence
Step 1: Move to a new location in your Realm. You MUST move during each of your turns, and cannot stay at your current location. If a location is LOCKED, you cannot move to it.
Step 2: Perform any number of the actions available at your current location. You can perform the actions in any order you choose, but you can only use each given action once per time it's printed at a location per turn.
Step 3: If you have fewer than 4 cards in your hand, draw cards until your hand size is back to 4.

Playing Conditions: Because these cards are played on another player's turn instead of your own, if you have a Condition you want to play, make a post after that player makes their post for their turn. At that point, if that player wants to make any changes to the actions they took after the action that triggered the Condition card being played, they may do so before we finalize their turn and move on to the next player's turn.

Example: Weird Autumn plays their turn and take three out of their four available actions at their current location. Their second action triggers a Condition card in Perrydotto's hand and she chooses to play it. At that point, we resolve Weird Autumn's first two actions, then we resolve the effects of Perrydotto's Condition card, and then Weird Autumn can choose to change her third action and maybe even take the fourth action she previously didn't feel like taking, based on the new game state. However, Weird Autumn cannot change her first action or her second action that triggered the Condition being played, since they've already been resolved.

The Fate Token: Since this is only a four-player game, we will not be using the Fate Token. This means that a player can be targeted by multiple consecutive Fate actions. If this happens to you, don't feel discouraged... remember that it's just a game, it's all in good fun, and when your turn rolls around, MAKE THOSE INSOLENT FOOLS PAY FOR DARING TO DEFY YOU!

Also, if you noticed that I forget something or screw up on something, don't hesitate to call me out on it, as this is all still new to me, too. So let's have fun!

The Queen of Hearts moves to the Hedge Maze, gains 3 Power, and spends it all to play Card Guards Heart and Diamond to the Courtyard and Tulgey Wood, respectively. Both Card Guards have the following Activated Ability:
Pay 1 Power - Convert this Card Guard to a Wicket or back to a Card Guard.
However, since the Queen of Hearts has no power left, she cannot use the Activate Ability action this turn (and even if she could, she'd only be able to do so for one of them), so she draws two cards and ends her turn.

Prince John heads to Friar Tuck's Church (not his Cottage... I apparently misread the Realm board back when I was first typing all this up weeks ago and failed to notice it then), gains 2 Power, and issues a Warrant for the arrest of any of Robin Hood's meddlesome Merry Men in Nottingham. He also dispatches his trusty henchsnake, Sir Hiss, to Sherwood Forest to keep an eye on things there in his absence, before drawing two cards at the end of the turn.

No problem on the slow turn, and Gyre's managed to whip up an image to hopefully help visualize the board states a bit better. And no, you're not required to take any actions at a location. You could, in theory, just move to a location and immediately end your turn if you felt like it.

Urusula heads down to The Shore to gather some Power while sending her pet Jetsam to lurk around the wreckage of Eric's Ship. She declines to take any further actions and draws 1 card to end her turn.

Jafar heads to Agrabah, furthering his schemes by having the Scarab Pendant unlock the Cave of Wonders... with the Pendant safely secured at the Oasis, he replenishes his Power, discards some cards (clearly, they were less than worthy), and sets the forces of Fate in motion against the Queen of Hearts. The Dodo, hearing reports of a giant monster at his good friend White Rabbit's House, has arrived to help out... just as soon as he finishes organizing a caucus race there. Meanwhile, Jafar ends the turn by drawing cards, going up to 5 now thanks to the powers of the Scarab Pendant.

I'm gonna move to Friar Tuck's Church and use the move ally action to move Sir Hiss to the church as well. I'll take advantage of his ability to gain 2 (1) power. Finally I'll spend my power to play Rhino Guards to the church, ending my turn.
