Re: The Newbie Thread II: Introduce Yourself!
I'm Fizzbuzz, but you likely know me already. I started watching at the end of S2, started posting at the end of S3, and now at the end of S7 I'm neck deep in pony stuff. From nothing, to posting here, to helping run the forums, to running the booru, to actually producing original content featuring ponygoon OCs, to going to pony conventions, to helping run those conventions... gosh, where am I ever going to stop?

Re: The Newbie Thread II: Introduce Yourself!
Oh hey I should post here too.
I've been into pony since near the end of season 1. I heard so much about it through Something Awful that I decided to see what this pastel horse thing was all about, and never looked back after the first episodes. A lot has happened since then to me, as I've gotten married and moved to Bulgaria, and managed to get my wife addicted to horsies too(although she's not much of a forum person)
Tiny unicorn, fashion horse and apple horse are best horses by the way.

Hello, I'm Frith. I started to watch the show in November 2011 and joined this forum in June 2012. Haven't been particularly active here lately but I still watch the show. Rarity is still the best pony but her little sister is almost as awesome.

princess spaceship reporting back for duty! I was introduced to pony by my now husband (who is much more actively involved in forums). I still love to watch the show with the whole family, which now includes 2 small persons, but rarely post. Something about tiny humans climbing all over me and trying to usurp any computer time I manage to find. Mostly use the thread to keep up to date with media releases as well as post art things I've made/sewn.

Y'all know me. I was a week one forum joiner who had ops in the IRC till I couldn't handle the Drama Llama any more and hid from that text based abomination. I'm older than most here, think shipping is stupid, love old ass computers, full of self loathing at my dorkitude, but am full of wisdom and truth.

Hey all. As my username suggests I don't post much, but I really appreciate these forums existing and I'm glad to see them recover. I got in to ponies way back around the start of season 2, and I've stuck with it ever since then. Rarity is the best pony, but really they're all good in their own ways. Happy Halloween!

Hi, I'm Stuff. Joined in November of 2011. Became pony obsessed June 2011 thanks to a bunch of obnoxious pony guys on a forum I used to browse. Checked out an episode on YouTube and got hooked.
Love this place. I've been here all throughout my college years and the funny people always picked me up during tough moments.
Sucks to hear what happened to our old beloved forums. All those posts gone... like tears in rain.

Re: The Newbie Thread II: Introduce Yourself!
Well, joined this board last week after NeoGAF fell, hedging my bets with the assumption that ResetEra wouldn't take off or would crash and burn, since this board seemed so stable. Funny how that worked
I was first exposed to pony through animated avatars on NeoGAF (didn't regularly visit then) and perhaps other sites, and then one slow weekend decided to check out the show. I watched the first three episodes, declared that it was interesting enough that I might check out the rest of what aired, and stopped for the day. I marathoned the rest of the series the following days
Thus, the ponies bug bit me, I started visiting sites like ED and NeoGAF's MLP threads, and the rest is history.
Now that ResetEra is up and running and did so much more quickly than I possibly could have expected, most of my posts will just be crossposts from there, but I'll still try to provide unique responses to other posts.
Speaking of which, can someone make the thread for "Shadow Play" again?

Well shoot, I'm no longer User #1000 ...
But everything that counts is the same, right? Including so many people I haven't heard from in like forever. Welcome back yall
For those who don't know me, I'm Headless Horse, another one of the Something Awful veterans—though I learned of Pony too late to be a part of the great conflagration that consumed the old SA pony threads and led to the setting up this forum as a refugee camp. I can't believe it lasted so long before a stray cookfire finally burned it down.
Somehow during that six-year stretch I ended up posting more Words About Ponies than I had ever written about any single subject before. I had over 10K posts before I finally ran out of steam (or got sidetracked by other things, temporarily) and slowed down.
I've always been interested in the meta-story of MLP:FiM, i.e. while I love the show and will wax mustache about how awesome it is to anyone who will listen, what really has me enthralled is how the show came to be, how it captured the hearts and minds of the bronies, and how the team behind it has managed to remain so dedicated to keeping the quality high and the vision coherent even through so many upheavals of the kind that have sunk countless other shows. The Simpsons and South Park are unrecognizable in their old age compared to how they started out, both stylistically and texturally, but Pony has kept itself remarkably consistent for seven years.
I dunno how much longer this crazy ride can keep going, but I'm not bailing anytime soon.

Hello. I am Perpetual.
I've been around more or less since the beginning, and as my username suggests, I never leave.
You may have noticed Perpetual Lurker slightly upthread. We are not the same person. One difference is that I post way less than they do. This is not confusing.
I approve of small horses and games of many varieties.
Many greetings Everyone!

Hi everyone it is I BeautifulShy. I joined the pony fandom back in 2011 just before season 2 started. Been really into the fandom the first few seasons and drifted in and out of it as the seasons went on. So I am back on this forum to talk more ponies, streaming games and any other randome things on this forum.

Hello Horsie Forums. Nice to see you.
Started watching the show from the start, and joined P'goons in March '11 since it was the only good pony forum out there.
I only catch the occasional episode of Pones nowadays. Not as in to it as I used to be, but I don't dislike it either. Haven't been very active since 2015 when IRL got a bit hectic, but I still lurk from time to time.
Also: Junebug is best horse.

I'm not actually new, and I used to go by Colgate or Raindrops here.
I was sad to hear what happened to the forum and that combined with a sudden reinterest in ponies and ToastGhost talking about the place brought me back.
That said I haven't watched an episode since Season 4, and I probably should get right on that.

Re: The Newbie Thread II: Introduce Yourself!
Hey everyone. Just checking in to show that I'm still around, since the last time I made a post on the old board was more than a year ago.
I first joined the board in late-October five years ago after watching some of the episodes of the show with my youngest nephew, though I had seen a couple episodes before then since a friend of mine from a different fandom would (and still occasionally uses) pony clips for their youtube videos.
I can't really say that I'm as big of a fan of MLP as I once was since I haven't really tried to keep up with it since around mid-Season 5. (I think the newest episode I remember watching for sure is "No Second Prances", though I have caught some glimpses of some of the newer episodes when visiting my younger brother and his kids a couple weeks ago.) I might try to get back into the show by re-watching the show from the beginning as a marathon type of thing, but I don't know for sure right now.

Re: The Newbie Thread II: Introduce Yourself!
Hello.
I got onboard the ponytrain back in 2011 when the first MLP thread was posted in TVIV over at somethingawful. Woke up the next morning with this avatar (<----) given to me and everyone else who posted in the first two pages of that thread. I still have it today!
Then when the thread really kicked off we started an IRC channel which I became a moderator of due to timezones, then Cosmobot set up the forums when pony threads were kicked out of SA and the rest is history.
Best pony is obviously Rarity . probably because Suited for Success was the first new episode we all got to watch back in that initial pony thread.

Re: The Newbie Thread II: Introduce Yourself!
Hey everyone! Back in 2012, I heard about the show and its fandom and quickly went through the first two seasons. Then I started exploring the fandom, somehow stumbled upon Ponygoons (still can't remember how), and eventually registered.
Haven't posted much for a long time and don't know if anyone really remembers me, but I still lurk here a lot. I really like this place! Crazy to me that I've been coming here for 5+ years.
Was really sad to see the forums go down, especially with the posts from the past few years being lost (other than what's being salvaged from Google cache and such).
Still a fan of the ol' pony show, though my active interest has faded since around Seasons 5 to 6-ish. S7 has been the first season I didn't really keep up with as it was airing. I'm all caught up now though, except for the finale.
A lot of my Pony obsession has been supplanted by other stuff over time (Steven Universe and Undertale come to mind), but the show's always gonna have a special place in my heart (as cheesy as that sounds). That and the crazy ride that this whole fandom thing has been.
And this place has been pretty cool too.
I'd say that maybe I'll be more active now after this fresh start, but I don't wanna jinx it. So I'll just say: see ya around!
(also, I need to find my avatar)
