That is true, but there is such thing as too much variance. That there has to be rules for mulligans means that there is too much variance. Optimally you should be able to play a cardgame after you draw a hand of cards, not to spend time wondering if the hand is playable.

oh they do but they do it in such a way to create deliberate inbalance.

there's a difference between gently nudging the meta one way a bit and just being pants on head dumb about things.

also wizards has in the past fessed up when they made mistakes while GW shrugs its shoulders and goes "LOL IDK" while the largest 40k tournament in NA requires a 100+ page FAQ document to fix their broken-ass rules

Obviously a cardgame will always a random component, I'm just saying that it's too big. There isn't just variance from bad to good hands, it's from playable to unplayable. For comparison, in Duel Masters you can either play each card for it's effect, or play it as a resource. This is a better system than lands in Wizard Poker.
