We can "give" rocks names, but they will always be temporary, ephemeral things. We will never know a rock's True Name.

I named mine Hitler McShitler.

I used a wish to discover its true name. It's Hitler McShitler.

I knew a rock named Rocky once. Turns out he was actually three rocks stacked on top of each other.
