I looked ahead at the schedule and even if the SCF goes to seven games, it'll end on September 30 since they're being made to play back-to-back on Friday and Saturday next week. I wanted a season to get closed out in October! 
(Though, it occurred to me as I wrote this that if game seven goes to triple overtime or something, it'd be October by the time someone hoists the Cup.)

Congrats to the Tampa Bay Lightning! My beer league team is the Lightning, so I feel a stupid sort of kinship with the NHL team. Also it's great to see Corey Perry lose.

The end of an era. Corey Crawford is one of the most underrated goaltenders of all time. He has a better career GAA and SV% than Carey Price, but is pretty much never in the discussion when talking about the elites.

The league and the NHLPA agreed to play a short season, January through May. Oh, and the divisions have been remixed for the sake of Canadian teams not needing to cross the border, and all games will be played within each division until the third round of the playoffs.
In a normal year, I'd almost be happy for the chance to get mad at Red Wings fans again for flooding into Nashville more than once a season.
