Spinel doesn't work nearly as well as a character with the shows more limited animation budget

Cartoon Network is currently airing the movie, and will then air all the episodes of Future, leading up to tonight's finale.

Just caught up on all of these (I kinda dropped off at episode 6). Most of the eps were really good! This is a fine send-off for the series if this is the end.

Alright it's 100% over. But... what was in the chest? :)

Close enough for me.

That was a pretty solid finale.

Only what you take with you.

Do you really think it was intended to be a metaphor all along? More likely a dropped plot point. :pinkieshrug:

Sometimes the fringe brilliance of instances like this are purely accidental, though.

Nah, I was kidding. It was either a throw away background prop or a red herring to try distract you from Bismuth. That they opened it in Future without telling you what was in it was a great joke though. Fan theory is it held the varsity jacket. That's as good as theory as anything else.

I am roughly the same age as Rebecca Sugar, grew up in the DC metro area like Rebecca Sugar, and vacationed frequently on the DelMarVA peninsula, and judging from Rebecca Sugar's creative output, had a fairly traumatic childhood like Rebecca Sugar. Steven Universe echoed a lot of what my life has been like, minus the magic space gems, and I really appreciated that.

Suffice to say Steven Universe holds a special place in my heart, I am sorry to see it go but I am happy it was made. It wasn't a perfect show but I think it's still my favorite show.

This last season really played to the show's strengths. Last episode was nearly perfect

I haven't felt this good about the show since... the Bismuth episode?

EDIT: I forgot the chest was shown as open in the movie, my bad
