Sometimes I wonder if I'm the only one who turns YouTube viewing history (and thus recommendations based on it) off.
mine is off as well, but this doesn't entierly stop youtube from recommending stuff, it just makes it random

on the bright side, random is probably the better outcome

The only major grief I have with my recommendation is that I get recommended stuff I've already seen.
Either I watched it on another device (PC at work, laptop/desktop at home, tablet, smartphone) and didn't save it as viewed or youtube itself forgot that I've watched the video years ago.

Hell, I get recommendations for stuff it knows I've already seen, and has the red underline on it, both on the front page and on the sidebar. I honestly don't think it's even programmed to take that into account.

I turned it off long ago, tho I wonder if it's turned itself back on in the meantime.

I've been watching Doom Eternal preview videos lately and some various AGDQ videos from this year and previous years, so the ALGORITHM has decided that i must surely want to watch the Doom 2016 run from this year again.
Granted it was a pretty good run, but given how the guy who ran it turned out to be shitty, I don't have a particular interest in watching it again. Too bad the ALGORITHM won't recognize that, no matter how many times I tell it that.

What videos are you more likely to want than ones you definitely watched?

Not sure if I´d put this in the awful category since it's pretty well done but it reminds me of a time where I was a little shit. Lucky Star is not bad thought as far as I remember. Perhaps I should watch it again, and see if old me had some merit to herself. Anyway:

I got recommended fucking SPOILERS today. Just the literal credits stinger for the Sonic movie, all nice and poorly camripped, with the reveal in the title and thumbnail. I actually would have been hype to see that in theaters, too
