My ublock has this filter in it:

youtube.com###dismissable:has-text(M views)

which makes it so any video with at least a million views is blocked. What this does: blocks those terrible "spider man pregnant with elsa's baby" 'kids' videos, fake how-to videos, and most "local man bob SLAMS the fire fighters when they come to fight a fire in his building, hero of fire" style political videos.

Already, youtube feels a lot better, having

A video with over 1 million views isn't inherently terrible. Videos less than that aren't inherently bad either, although more likely because the really bad ones are less viewed.

That is the opposite. Mostly the really terrible ones are the ones that have over a million views. And again, this only blocks them from your main page and if you look at particular channels it won't block them.

Like Adiwan unless you believe that pewdiepie is not "the really bad ones" I dunno what to tell you :v

Everything that's popular is dumb and bad, that's why I only watch unlisted videos, read books that didn't sell even a single copy and listen to music that even the artist in question didn't want to hear while composing.

I don't say that pewdiepie, for instance, creates good content because it has >1M views.
Neither I say that any video below is bad either just because it has lower views.
Exploitative videos on the other hand... They exist everywhere.

Personally I didn't have a problem with those bad videos appearing in my recommendations.
I take good care in massaging the "algorithm" by watching odd videos outside my usual interest in incognito mode and by telling Youtube directly that I don't like a video with the 3 dots menu below the video thumbnail and by procuring channels that I really want to watch and follow.

I can't believe Valve actually went from being well known for having games you could run on a toaster because of optimization to making the game that requires the most expensive hardware to run. Like, literally the most out of any game ever made, up to this point. And I'm sure all that optimization is still there and the whole reason why it's even possible with that, but it's still kind of funny.
