I can't believe Valve actually went from being well known for having games you could run on a toaster because of optimization to making the game that requires the most expensive hardware to run.

I don't remember this ever being the case except they probably worked hard to optimize TF2 so everyone could play it.

valve's source engine games and mods running on it run well on today's toasters, but when the games were first released they definitely didn't

I don't think there's a way to do that because at the moment youtube doesn't list the nation of origin on the video thumbnail.

On the other hand, if you change your location on the bottom of the youtube page, that does alter what's recommended. I swapped it to Japan a while back and it helps avoid some of the suggestions I'd been getting before.

If you're on the new layout (And maybe also otherwise) they moved the location thing from the bottom to the menu that pops up when you click your avatar.

Toys with unregulated loud noise output should be forbidden entirely.
My neighbour below me has a child and a cheap, big, and loud toy car that blasts bad 8bit renditions of public domain music.
This auditory torture penetrated through the floor, permeated through the walls, and transmitted through the heating pipes and amplified by the radiator. Early in the morning to late in the evening. I endured a day but anything after that is too much for my nerves.

I asked to turn it down. I wonder how long the peace will last.

In these times it is hard to entertain a small child and easy to annoy the neighbours.
