I’m always wrong, about everything, and then people jump in to correct me, or worse, talk down to me, and then I’m filled with self-loathing. See the posts about that Beatles movie or whatever.

Not even joking.

I wish I could talk to people without either showing off how stupid I am, or having people treat me as the dumbest person alive

But you aren't stupid. Not knowing literally everything in the world doesn't mean you are stupid. Someone entering a conversation and adding to what you talk about doesn't mean that person wants you to feel stupid. You don't deserve disrespect for not knowing things, obviously. Nobody does. Again, nobody can know literally everything. Brains are faulty and it's easy to misremember stuff. You are not somehow worse than everyone else, seriously. You deserve just as much as respect, from yourself and everyone else, as any other person (even if you think they are somehow superior to you).

It’s so wrong. :dreamworks:

And being wrong is OK. If we were right ALL the time, then we wouldn’t need other people, and what fun would that be?

Also I made the mistake of posting about video games on a different site and had a bunch of condescending assholes tell me how wrong I was about my subjective experience of not thinking downgraded Switch graphics are a big deal (because my PC can’t run anything modern well anyway, not with a 1.88Ghz CPU)

Silly me, not having the money to sink hundreds or thousands into a gaming desktop

This is turning out to be a garbage month and the 6th garbage year in a row

Randos on the internet are shitty about videogames a lot. It's why I don't discuss videogames with randos. It SHOULDN'T be this way! People should just like, I dunno, behave like decent people! But some of them really literally can't, and once again, that is not YOUR fault, it is THEIR fault. I have a good time discussing games with you, because you have good experiences to share and they're genuinely interesting. I do NOT like discussing games with fuckers like the ones you ran into, because they don't care about having a good exchange of thoughts, they just want to be right and show off what kinda cool gamer tough guys they are. You did nothing wrong.

Enjoying things is cool and good, don't let people like that make you think otherwise. Let them get eaten up by their own bullshit competition over who is the most elitistic cynical prick while you have fun with things that are meant to be fun. It's a good way to be.

Graphics aren't that big a deal if the gameplay and/or story is engaging enough. The next time someone gives you crap about not having dumped half your yearly income into a gaming platform that'll be obsolete by the end of the week, tell them they can take their fancy, expensive graphics card, turn it sideways and shove it up their ass.

I like playing games on the switch because I can play on my tv but also pick it up and take it with me to the bathroom or on a visit to relatives or something

the Switch is genuinely really good at what it is does and when you play a stylized as hell looking game who gives a fuck if it doesn't run MegaShadersX+

BotW is my favorite Zelda game ever. :-D

Also, they have Jackbox games on Switch, which is super fun and convenient to bring to parties.

Mary Worth's Journal. October 12th, 1945:

Stray dog in alley this morning, heel tread on burst doodoo. This condominium is afraid of me. I have seen it's true face. The halls are extended gutters and the gutters are full of doodoo and when the drains finally clog up, all the tenants will drown. The accumulated filth of all their drama and gossip will foam up about their waists and all the ladies and gentlemen will look up and shout "Save us!"...

...and I'll look down, and whisper "no."

They had a choice, all of them. They could have followed in the footsteps of good men like "Brick" Bricker, or Dr. Jeff Cory. Decent men, who believed in a day's work for a day's pay. Instead they followed the droppings of strays and Communists and didn't realize that the trail led over a precipice until it was too late. Don't tell me they didn't have a choice.

Now the whole building stands on the brink, staring down into boozy heck, all those doctors and professors and advice columnists... and all of a sudden, nobody can think of anything to say

I've wanted to post a clip of the "Fabulous" segment from Ponies: the Anthology here, but apparently no one ever uploaded a stand-alone copy and my editing system is out of commission for a while.
