I’m only like eight episodes into S9 so ponies aren’t even remotely over for me. I can keep this up forever if I choose! Forever!!!
the power of positive procrastination
same except an earlier season
It's not that I don't enjoy pony media or pony stories anymore, I just distract myself with so much else these days

I don't remember what episode I've seen last
I can't even ask for somebody to tell me because the forums kind of did that thing where they died without a backup in the intervening time period, because let's face it I probably posted about it
actually you were super sincerely careposting about how much you liekd my little pony

To this day I will always wonder how things might've gone had there not been almost a whole year between the end of S4 (May 10, 2014) and the start of S5 (April 4, 2015). As I see it, those two seasons were FiM's transitional period, trying to figure out its tone and themes now that the show was to go forward past its original 65-episode run. Having the longest hiatus in the show's history right in the middle of that left a lot of people feeling uncertain about what the show was to become, from what I saw.
I also wonder what would have happened had the first summer been that long. We all know the insane levels of hype between S1 and S2, but would that have sustained the nascent fandom for 11 months instead of just four?

That hiatus was really good... Season 5 worked out to be one of the best seasons. It had great bookends that didn't end in magic friendship rainbow lasers and only two terrible episodes. Plus, Rainbow Rocks filled the void in between.
If they had rushed Season 5 we wouldn't have a Season 9...

When all this is said and done I'm still going to make my own thread for end-of-horse-fandom talk and you can't stop me.
Not to compete, just because there's a lot to talk about.
