There's so many great moments I totally forgot about. Especially in seasons 3-7, since I've rarely rewatched anything since s2 and they're not super recent either.

It's making me feel like doing a full rewatch but it can probably wait till I'm all

You know, for a show that liked to make callbacks to everything (the final episode even had Spike bringing up the Diamond Dogs), it's surprising that Winter Wrap-Up was never brought up again.

Also, Diamond Tiara literally never spoke again after the CMCs got their cutie marks. Even her parents had dialogues in some of the later episodes.

I think the CMC getting their cutie marks was the only time a major shakeup to the show's status quo wasn't spoiled because it was never leaked and such. Even Jim Miller expressed shock this didn't happen. Everybody was in it blind that they would get their marks after 5 years (the episode aired on the show's 5th anniversary)

There WAS a later episode that got leaked, and the CMCs were in it, but their marks wern't shown because they were wearing costumes that covered them up. Talk about luck.

Ponies as stewards of nature was one of those concepts that I think left with Faust. It wasn't discarded entirely (Rainbow Dash committing industrial terrorism to stop Tank from having to hibernate was a later example), but I think it was one of those things that would have gotten in the way of stories more often than not.

Yeah, I was gonna say they kinda dropped that concept after the 1st or 2nd season. "Tanks for the Memories" (the one where Dash sabotages the weather factory) from Season 5 brought it back, but other than that I can't think of any later episodes where this was a thing at all.

I agree that it was something that probably got in the way of stories, so they just ignored it for the most part.

I could swear some other episode referenced the Running of the Leaves? That said yeah it stopped mattering pretty soon. It's a shame, it was really funny how they were terrified of Everfree's (totally normal) uncontrolled nature.

There's a cute-ceañera this afternoon and everypony in my class will be there and they'll all have their cutie marks and I wanna get my cutie mark but I'm no good at sellin' apples but I really wanna go to the party but how can I go to the party if I don't have my cutie mark which my big sister says I'm gonna get eventually but... One thing that surprised me about Ponies is that, for a show that ran for a long time, they really went out of their way to make sure they don't have to resort to recasting voices for their characters for any reason. This was especially noticeable when none of the movie characters never had speaking lines in the show because they were voiced by expensive celebrities; normally in other movie-to-show cases they would just get recast by cheaper voice actors, like how Genie was voiced by Dan Castellaneta in the "Aladdin" TV show as opposed to Robin Williams.

The only exceptions I can think of are Pipsqueak (William Lawrenson and Graham Verchere), Twilight Velvet (Tara Strong and Patricia Drake), and Night Light (Andrew Francis and Charles Demers).

Bon-Bon, being a background character who spoke occasionally, probably holds the record for most different voices, though, to the point it was a fandom joke about it

Looking it up, she was voiced at various times by Tabitha St. Germain, Ashleigh Ball, and Andrea Libman.
