It's almost Halloween and that means it's time to get SPOOKED

and as we all know, nothing is spookier than my good friend SCOOBERT DOOBERT DOO

In the time since we last scoobed, the animators at weeb have produced an especially ludicrous crop of animated films that I honestly cannot wait to enjoy

So coming up THIS SATURDAY OCTOBER 26 2019 at 12 O CLOCK NOON EASTERN TIME I will take a break from probably playing The Outer Worlds all weekend to share with you a bountiful crop of films, including:

SCOOBY-DOO MEETS BOBBY FLAY

SCOOBY-DOO REMEMBERS THE THIRTEENTH GHOST 30 YEARS TO LATE

Yes every single one of these is real and I am very excited for all of them

i am extremely here for the 13 ghosts of scooby doo finale movie

i ended up catching that whole series via reruns (or at least enough of them for it to count) and I always wanted to get a finale for that, so I'm down for that

I watched somewhere between "a lot" and "way too fuckin much" cartoon network as a kid in the 90s, so I ended up catching a ton of repeats of old scooby doo content, from Where Are You?, New Scooby Doo Movies, Ghoul School and other various movies, and even the more then-recent A Pup Named Scooby Doo

I didn't have cable until the early-mid '00's so I missed out on a lot of that stuff. By the time I got there, it was all shunted onto Boomerang and mixed in with even older, more boring things.

smurfs was very dumb and boring to watch as a kid, and yet I still sat through it along with like, Flintstones, Jetsons, and a ton of various other bits of crap alongside a ton of looney tunes shit and tom and jerry

cartoon network had a lot of shit on it that got shunted to boomerang. some of it was great, but there's plenty of garbage

i still think the most wut was the caveman/flintstones variety hour, CAVE-MAN was a boring one off joke, and the flintstones portion aged up pebbles and bam-bam into teenagers to make them cool and hip but even as a kid in the 90s i could tell it was super 'fellow kids'

One of my favorite jokes in the scrappy doo show was that they had an "Uncle Yabba" and that was a subtle Flintstones reference that I appreciated.

Fun fact: Paul Lynde voiced the villain, but requested that he doesn't receive screen credit because he didn't want his Hollywood pals to know that he was voicing in a Saturday Morning cartoon.
