I actually think with the name "Sheev" they were trying to draw allusions to "Shiva" the Hindu god of destruction.

It's really better to think of Star Wars as vaguely futuristic-themed fantasy than "actual" sci-fi.

But KOTOR is so far away from the og trilogy and doesn't affect stories Disney wants to do while still being beloved. Like sure, get rid of the guy that's literally a horse on the rebels, but why get rid of the cool shit that happened 4000 years before the parts Disney wants to focus on?

I said this in that Disney+ thread and nobody else said anything about it. It has the "wild west" aspect that I think Star Wars content has been missing since... basically OT.
