I dislike shitposting or even going on twitter because the place is info overload central. Even with the few people I follow, I'd get like 800 updates and I just don't have the ability to pay attention to that much shit.

Here it's like 5 people posting about stupid shit and that's the ideal shitpost haven for me.

I don't think I could stand to take part in media that's any more social than a forum like this. Big corporate platforms like Twitter and Facebook demand too much of your data and want you to follow too many of their standards, and even on something like Mastodon, the standard there seems to be to hide virtually every single post behind a content warning since you don't know just how widely your post will be seen. I'd rather participate in a community on a scale where I can reasonably know the whole community and be a part of it.
