My avatar is from Maou-jou de Oyasumi, which is about a princess that gets kidnapped and then spends her time trying to sleep better, while causing mayhem and chaos among the silly and goofy demons. As it progresses, the manga becomes more about the relationship between the princess and her demon friends.

In western media when a premise is this peculiar I presume the work is an allegory, such as for puberty, colonialism or the atom bomb. But manga regularly delights me by saying “nope we just thought this would be a fun idea, now shut up and enjoy it”.

Mine is Izutsumi from Dungeon Meshi/Delicious in Dungeon, a catgirl who actually has a cat's personality, she's a bit of self-centered bastard doing her best to learn about the magic of friendship and also perfect in every way I love her

What I remember most from dungeon meshi was they really liked eating stuff, and the magical armor was like eating a clam or something
