Honestly, taking the "rip and tear" meme line from that very, very dumb Doom comic and revitalizing it as ominous, badass, and now outright iconic without any of the old irony attached is a stroke of genius franchise maneuvering that I could only dream of recreating.
The only way to top it would be if Eternal went and made "No, John. You are the demons." into some amazingly written reveal or something.

i wanna point out that the backstory we hear in hell involves the demons collapsing the ceilling of a temple on doomguy so he was trapped and not able to kill

The only problem there is that DOOM: Repercussions of Evil is technically a piece of fanfiction. An overt reference to it might bring the author around, seeking royalties.

Doom: Eternal is actually absolutely fine with using fan work and (hopefully) paying the creator what they're due, as seen here:

But did the cyberdemon fire the rocket missiles at him first

yup
while doom slayer was all I MUST DESTROY THE DEMONS the demons were all "no, you are the demons", and then he was sealed away in a sarcophagus, undying like he was some sort of zombie
