The Last of Us is one of my favourite games for many reasons. The main one being that Joel Miller is the most relatable, heroic video game character ever conceived. I tried to make a point about blacklisting in the industry, questionable review copy/embargo policies like not being allowed to talk about most of the game or what have you but since I wanted to clown on the stupidity of publishing something so terrible as a "professional" video games outlet I ended up being careless and now I am thoroughly owned... very sad.

I think they'd cancel each other out and accidentally produce a masterpiece of interactive entertainment that tells its story in a unique, creative way through deep gameplay integration rather than by stopping the gameplay to make you listen to endless totally-not-a-cutscene scripted conversations while nothing other than walking happens or just outright mocapped we-wanna-be-Hollywood-too cutscenes with egregious overacting by the same pool of like, ten at most video games voice actors who are totally mature and respectable artists now, not just graduated anime dub voices
