it was a post dismissing fluttershy as a "waifu". last i checked a. fictional horses aren't exactly available for romance and b. nobody ever called their romantic partner a "waifu"

using the term “waifu” has no meaningful distinction when you are singling out any of said waifus for not meeting your standards. they are all fictional horses and thus equally not available for romance

this is still bugging me so let's be clear on what "waifu" means in its purest, least ironic form:

waifu. Noun. (fandom slang) A fictional character from non-live-action visual media (typically an anime, manga, or video game) that one is attracted to and considers a significant other.

thus, when you are weighing the pros and cons of a "waifu" even playfully/ironically, you don't get the benefit of the doubt that the things you value are as fictional as the character you're talking about. the fact that these are cartoon horses does not make it any more tasteful to say things like "Rainbow Dash is a butch retard and therefore a terrible waifu" or "Pinkie is basically a child and those who would date her are basically pedophiles" or whatever other veiled expression of toxic relationship hangups you want to use ponies as a proxy for

if you have a preference for people who flaunt strength and conceal weakness, good for you, but don't fuckin' tell me that the reverse makes you a terrible romantic partner and especially don't fuckin' hide behind the excuse that you weren't talking about a real person

I basically had zero self-confidence from birth to age 22, and it took a pretty dramatic life event to begin the process of building it up, which took years. I know how difficult the struggle can be, so I really should've known that my joke could've been taken another way than just a simple, stupid jab at pony waifuism.

ANYWAY, to put this thread back on track...

RANDOM THOUGHT: It kinda makes sense that the target audience for fidget spinners lost interest in them so quickly.

And in the meantime, at least there's other toys that can be played with which serve a similar purpose and are hopefully similarly effective.
