i had a triple double crunchwrap for lunch the other day, it was good

even better, it was at a combination KFC taco bell so I got to have the kfc-exclusive peach mountain dew with it which is really great

I've found Diet Baja Blast in exactly one Taco Bell. It was in Albany, Oregon. I've never seen it anywhere else and I long to find it again.

Major Taco Bell News

Taco Bell is discontinuing 9 of its menu items, effective September 12th.

You have about two weeks to say goodbye to the:

Beefy Mini Quesadilla - They're ending this, but not the Chicken Mini Quesadilla, so you could just order the latter and substitute beef for chicken. The bonus on this one is that it reheats really well, so it's something you could get if you're not sure how hungry you are, and if you end up not eating it, it will still be edible later. Can't do that with crunchy tacos or anything that has lettuce and sour cream in it.

Chips & Salsa - OK, there's really no big loss here. It's just chips and salsa.

Chipotle Chicken Loaded Griller - This one is actually decent. I think it's the only menu item that some with chipotle sauce by default; not clear if this means the chipotle sauce is also going away

Double Decker Taco - This was a go-to when I was in grad school the first time.

Cool Ranch Tacos

Fiery Doritos Locos Tacos - This was the best of the Doritos Tacos...

Double Tostada - I didn't know this was a thing

Power Menu Burrito - Never tried it

XXL Grilled Stuft Burrito - Was the best "big burrito" option there, but if you want a big burrito, go to a food truck or Taco Del Mar.

I ate the tacos and burritos, the family split up everything else

I’ve probably eaten the grilled stuft burrito more than anything else but I definitely haven’t had it as much in recent years. It was still good and I’ll miss it

Power burrito was fine but not as good as the other one

I’ve never been crazy about crunchy tacos, the Doritos ones included, but the double decker taco was good

I got a pineapple-cherry freeze to drink and that was probably the star out of everything

Did something similar last night, only with three items: The Fiery Doritos Loco Taco, the Chipotle Chicken Griller and the Double Decker Taco.

The Double Decker Taco was a classic. Ate it first so I could enjoy it while the crunchy shell still had some crunch to it.

The Fiery DLT has a nice flavor to the shell, but the shell was damaged in transport and fell apart pretty quickly. It turned into a tostada situation, as it were.

I am going to miss the Chipotle Chicken Griller. I like Taco Bell's chicken simply because it isn't as greasy as their beef. The griller was good because their other chicken burritos are bulkier, packed with rice, beans, lettuce, etc... The griller is smaller, cheaper and easier to do in a hurry. It's just chicken, sauce and cheese.

So, with that in mind, I am going to recommend these:

The Taco Bell Fire Tortilla chips. They have a good spice flavor to them, but they build up a bit and it can hurt! In a good way. Try them!
