Are you still holding off on watching it, or any of the show, before the fandom tells you whether the finale was good or not? If so, you're really not going to get a personally meaningful ending, no matter how it goes.

Edit to clarify: In my experience with the fandom at large, the voices that get heard the most are the loudest and angriest. Unless there's someone out there whose views have consistently gone exactly with yours and you are able to tune the rest of the fandom out, I feel you'd mainly be hearing from those who disliked it and the haters who have been shitting on the show since the end of S1/the end of S3/the ponyless year between S4 and S5 (pick one).

And if you are still watching, I apologize for jumping to conclusions; I thought I'd once read you saying something to the effect of that you'd rather wait for the end first.

I was planning on watching it live if I can. As for the fandom at large, I know better than to let them taint my views. This is about the only place I trust for commentary.

My recent negativity is the result of the show/movie not meeting certain expectations. Though with the writer churn and time constraints the team has had to deal with I don't fault them for it, but it leaves me worried.

And that worry is the finale doing something dumb that would make the past 9 seasons feel hollow and wasted. I don't know if The Princesses falling to some dumb going to the undying lands, sacrificing themselves, or just straight "we must go now" trope would do that for me, I guess it depends on how the writers handle it. Though I will probably be bitter to some degree even if it is done flawlessly. So in the "personally meaningful ending" regard I suppose you are right, even it would be so easy for them not to let me down.

According to Simple Ponyclock, Australia will air the final episode on September 8 (September 9 in Australia).

Among all the scripts in the leak are six "clip" shows. Where there's a slight bit of new pony content, but framed around looking back at many previous episodes, and the overall length is about an episode long.

My guess is on October 19th, we're going to get a three-hour buildup to episode 26 with these clip shows summarizing the whole series.

I've gone ahead and locked every thread on this board, as the series is over. As the 2021 movie and maybe the S10 comic series picks up, maybe this board will find some use once again, but for now, so long!
