He's also being charged in Los Angeles, so there's a chance he'll be convicted of even more charges.

Re: Everyone in Hollywood is a sex offender
It just got more interesting. Four more victims have come forward, including one who was underage at the time, and they're not just going after Harvey himself but his brother and Miramax's former parent company Disney, claiming they all knew about his behavior and were complicit in covering it up.
One of the big revelations to come out of #MeToo was not just how widespread this shit is, but how much of an honest-to-Frith conspiracy often surrounds them to protect them. But so far we haven't seen any big legal movement in the latter department. Now we're going to get to see alleged accomplices grilled on what they knew and when they knew it.

Re: Everyone in Hollywood is a sex offender
Throughout last week allegations against comic creators (including Warren Ellis) was spreading around within comics Twitter.
This lead to sexual assault allegations against Comic Book Legal Defense Fund executive director Charles Brownstein to resurface. It was first reported in 2006, but he was allowed to remain at his post. However the past weekend more and more allegations against him (including a former deputy director of CBLDF who said Brownstein harassed him) came out, leading many comic creators (including Jeff Smith and Frank Miller) to announce they're no longer supporting the organization. Brownstein finally resigned last night.
All of this lead to CBLDF's other actions as an organization coming to light. Their supposed goal is to support free speech in comics, but how they do that is inconsistent. They supported Milo Y. when his book deal got cancelled (which doesn't even have anything to do with comics), but refused to support 11 comic creators and journalists when they got sued by a small press publisher in a blatant SLAPP suit (SPX had to start a fundraising campaign in response). The said SLAPP suit was finally settled out of court earlier this year.

Really does seem like a tip of the iceberg with CLBDF. One of the former board members is requesting she'd be removed from the NDA agreement that she was forced to sign when she resigned.

I don't know of sex offender allegations, but owner of the Something Awful forums that spawned this forum, Rich "Lowtax" Kyanka, at least has beat women.
Very math.

Man, how much of a piece of shit do you have to be for even Frank Miller to not want to associate with you anymore.Mr. Big wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2020 11:57 amHowever the past weekend more and more allegations against him (including a former deputy director of CBLDF who said Brownstein harassed him) came out, leading many comic creators (including Jeff Smith and Frank Miller) to announce they're no longer supporting the organization.

This video's place is here. He doesn't read accounts or go into details, but it's still bad.
So bad, he dropped his Jimquisition persona for this video because it would be in bad taste.

It’s appalling that the news has only gotten worse since Jim made that video. We really need to make sure people are held accountable for their actions and are better educated on consent at a younger age so we have way fewer victims (hopefully no victims, but I’m not that optimistic about humanity) in the future.
The underlying idea—that powerful and popular people can ignore the rules and just take whatever they want—also needs to be taken out to the trash, along with a lot of other sociocultural baggage that is not relevant to this specific thread. No more celebrities, no more billionaires. No more putting anybody on a pedastal.

I don’t even think it has to do with them not being educated enough. I think they know but just don’t care. Unchecked individualism; I feel I have a right to this so I will just take it. Each individual as the main character in their own story, all others reduced to supernumaries.

Re: Everyone in Hollywood is a sex offender
I read this review on the Ren & Stimpy documentary, "Happy Happy Joy Joy" (it initially wrapped production in 2018, only to be forced to enter production again when the Buzzfeed article came out).
The documentary itself is a mixed bag, but the review does a good job explaining why John K. got away with what he did for a long time:

John K. being the Jim Jones of Animation is a spot-on assessment. I saw it first-hand.It ignores that a lot of these [post-Ren & Stimpy] cartoons were heralded by fans for years, that they were worked on by a lot of new up and coming talent who were indoctrinated with the John K. Kool-Aid and broke off after figuring out their messiah was a Jim Jones type (whether these folks have publicly admitted it or not). It’s only been since the expose that it’s fashionable to call these post-R&S John K. works out for their lack of substance. We only hear briefly in the film about how cultish Spumco was during Ren & Stimpy, but we’re never told how much worse it got with a martyr figurehead and the kind of environment that tolerated he was sleeping with a child who wrote him fan letters.

Re: Everyone in Hollywood is a sex offender
Oh, hell. I know Shir from working with them at BronyCon and got to attend MAGFest a few times on BC's behalf, so I'm saddened to hear all this. That was one hell of a fun con, but I had no idea of the rot at MAGFest's head. Thanks for sharing this, sad as it is.

Cw: grown ass dude with a very teenaged girlfriend
The front for Aerosmith, Steven Tyler (who was 27 at the time), convinced his 14 year old girlfriend's parents to sign guardianship of her over to him so she could live and go on tour with him. After she got pregnant and had an abortion, they broke up and he returned the girl, now 17, to her parents.
Very math.
