Re: Relationships & Co. Thread
As I said, Geomancing and I are an item now. The old version of this thread was lost in the horseocalypse but in it you fine folks gave me advice on how to confess a weird seemingly random crush on another ponygoon i.e. just fuckin do it and let her do what she will with the information.
It went better this time.
It kinda helps I've known her for years now, maybe? It's not been long since we decided to hook up and it's just chatting online, but it's still been great to say "I love you" to someone and get the same back.
We can go for hours, just her and I, and I have revealed things about myself I never thought I would over the internet. Love for her is doing things to me and it's weird but wonderful.
It happening around Christmas is coincidental.

Re: Relationships & Co. Thread
It's been an incredibly new experience. I've never been in a relationship and honestly, never thought I would be. I think I've been lonely for so long I never remembered what not feeling it was like. Being able to just talk about whatever has been amazing. Wild new frontier, and I'm not exploring it alone.

Re: Relationships & Co. Thread
I never thought I'd have so much of an effect on her, either. I don't know what led me to this, I don't know why her, I don't know what I thought would happen.
I think I expected her to be flattered but not interested like so many other of my crushes, to be honest.
I am glad she decided to try. I'm glad just being there to listen is doing so much for her, too.

Re: Relationships & Co. Thread
I'm so, so incredibly happy for you two wonderful dorks. You deserve love and good times and so much more.
Exploring these strange, new, awkward at first frontiers together can really be incredibly rewarding. Communicate with each other about whatever may come, and be honest whenever you can. It's totally fine to feel like a stumbling doofus, being all "suave" or whatever is vastly overrated. You care about each other and are showing it, that's what matters. Sincere kindness really goes a long way, and it'll help you grow together.
May you have lots of good and rewarding times ahead!!

Re: Relationships & Co. Thread
So, uh, I have a girlfriend now.
We're on a "trial" basis, so to speak, but we've been having fun talking! We met on Tinder.
She's cute, she's nerdy, and most importantly she likes cats.

Re: Relationships & Co. Thread
i started playing this pony town game a while ago and met a rather affectionate blue deer
we have not officially declared ourselves a couple, but we've been finding a lot in common and really enjoying each other's online company these past few days. at first we were just snuggling, chit-chatting and people-watching on pony town for a while. we tried watching things through CyTube at some point but copyright claims proved too difficult to navigate without using a streaming setup. we then played some Mario Maker 2 ('cause multiplayer with friends is a thing now) and had a fun expedition into the depths of player-generated garbage. we're now playing Terraria together, which she had last played before the Wall of Flesh was even a thing. above all it seems like we've both had a lot of excess free time with no one flexible enough to really spend it with, so it's really great that we found each other and have so many similar tastes and interests
i'm keeping my hopes in check, but fingers crossed all the same. she lives all the way over by the east coast of Canada but i have no issue with a LDR for the foreseeable future. she's wonderful, and if nothing else, i am more than content to simply be a friend and be there for her
we feel the same way about a lot of things and i hope this is one of them. currently steeling myself to inquire about it when she's online again
update: well i asked her, and she pointed out that i needed to get to know her better first, that she's had bad experiences with LDRs, and that closing the distance between the US and Canada only goes one way because you can't marry into Canada. to be honest, i hadn't even begun to think about it that far. i was thinking that the whole purpose of hooking up was to test our compatibility come what may, but i suppose that purpose can already be filled by being good friends and she is absolutely right to be cautious about these things. as someone with very little experience with relationships, i am glad she was able to clear this up so succinctly. i feel way less anxious about it now

Re: Relationships & Co. Thread
I ended up breaking it off with that girl. I don't think it was working out between us, and to be frank I don't think I'm ready to go on a date, at least for now. She understood, thankfully.
Still, at least I got a clearer idea on what I want out of a relationship, if I ever chose to go on that path again. A learning experience, I guess.

Some quick google shows that she should be able to sponsor your visa? Then it looks like you have to live in Canada for five years and pass a basic citizenship and language proficiency test to become a Canadian Citizen.
