This would be a great place for a winery and then tourists could visit your winery and you could let them pet the donkey. But there aren't wineries in this game, unfortunately.

Nearly 100 villagers in my little Ostriv town. Our main export is charcoal; there are plenty of trees and other towns always need charcoal.
Village sheep are allowed to graze in fallow fields, where their weed-eating and subsequent pooping helps the soil recover. Sheep milk gets taken to market, while wool goes to the fuller's. There, a water wheel turns hammers which pound the wool into useful broadcloth.

Re: The Garbage Dump: 100+ pages of well-aged compost
My company gave every member a laptop (even before the pandemic) and I'm doing work from home. All the time I had my laptop to my side as it was the only place left on my desk. Because it was so far on the side it was pretty inconvenient in multiple ways: I could not put stuff in the place the laptop occupied and I had to turn my head a lot to look on the laptop's screen.
I got fed up and created a vertical laptop stand so it can be right in front of me. I modeled the stand in CAD beforehand, including a rough placement of my monitors, so I wouldn't be surprised when everything got assembled and ready. I measured everything with generous tolerances. With the model information I printed a few profiles on paper, transferred on some cheap wood (pine) and cut it on my mini band saw. A little bit of screwing around, staining the wood, and some varnish, the only thing left was some felt to prevent the laptop from scratches and wiggling around.
Now I have so much more space and the USB-C docking station also fits there nicely.
So far it is sturdy enough that I'm not that afraid of the laptop falling down. Just in case I clamped it with C-clamps to the table.
The stand is narrower on the base because the monitor stands didn't give me much space to work with.

I actually owned that thing back then. As I can remember it wasn't that bad but my memory could have been clouded by my young and naive brain when I used it.

If you have a mechanical keyboard, it's probably better than most actual joysticks because it's like using an arcade stick with microswitches (macroswitches?)

I totally forgot this thing existed, but somehow did not forget about the weird pony fangame that Jim Sterling played ages ago starring a young Celestia and Luna and which involved an attack called "Golden Veronica". So I thought from the thumbnail that maybe that had finally gotten finished and this was what they were playing.

Today we celebrate the day with towels because a funny author died on a treadmill.

Re: The Garbage Dump: 100+ pages of well-aged compost
Remember ages ago when I made a pixel font that I thought would look good in a fantasy game or something?
Well, I never did anything with it because I realized it actually sucked. But then recently I got in a strange mood and the next thing I knew I had made a new one.
I like this one a lot more. I'm gonna try to enter it into FontStruct and make a real TTF out of it. They have a tool for custom kerning and everything, which is good because I'm going to need it.

HEY GUESS WHAT it turns out there's an app for that and I was finally able to isolate it and get a positive ID. It's the eastern wood-peewee. The recording under the picture is a good representation of what I've been hearing, as well as its alternate song.Pocket wrote: ↑Mon Jun 14, 2021 1:45 pmFor the past couple years, there's been this bird in our back yard whose song sounds like a little kid asking "What'cha doooooin'?" None of us knows what bird sounds like that, and no one has been able to locate it. Even my dad, who's studied books about backyard birds, is stumped. I also have no memory of a bird like that being around when I was younger, so maybe it's something that used to live further north and whose migration patterns have changed due to global warming?

Most often I hear swallows that whoosh in front of my windows and sound like banshees. Sometimes I hear a bird imitating a car unlock sound or a common phone ringtone.

It pleases me to think that Lyra and Bon-Bon are still being toxic besties all these years later.

Look what I found wandering around at the park today.
I haven't seen a trash panda in broad daylight in over 20 years.

They are cute. I’m sure there are a million reasons why they’d be terrible pets though.

Just two, really: They have hands, and they're not afraid to use them.

They’re also prone to rabies, so you’d need to get them vaccinated against it. Also they’d probably be more destructive than bored cats. And just as cute

There's a famous picture somewhere on the internet of a kitchen where the walls are full of raccoon-sized holes from the owner's pet raccoon deciding to turn the space between the walls into its own personal tunnel system.

Anya has all the information and can't process it.
She's the most informed character in the entire show.
