Woah, I must have blacked out or something cause the last thing I remember is opening presents under the tree, but here I am at my computer. Not sure why I'm covered in all this blood, but it doesn't seem to be mine oh well.

Image
This arrived on Wednesday! :awesomedash:
From the packaging I discovered that my SS came from the Land of Deutsch of all places!

Now, I know it's against popular opinion, but I really like chocolate. I'll have to savor them if I'm going to last till next secret santa.

Speaking of savoring, I folded each and every pony-plastered napkin as I worked my way down. I took my time and then some.
Along the way were these few napkins with mystical and enigmatic messages on them. Bla, Thing, Haus, Bla. But what did it all mean?

Image
As I held this gift in my hand, only partially spoiled, I resigned myself to my fate and promised myself that whatever awaited on the other side, I would love and cherish it and brush its hair every day.

Image
Oh sweet! Nevermind! The best miniature set, score!

Image
Pink!

Image
Alter Bridge! Ooo!
The only song of theirs I had before this point was In Loving Memory, so this band had already broken the ice while still being completely new.
It then occurred to me that I had in my gift suggestions specifically asked for my Santa's favorite music album, and that this copy was not shrink-wrapped.
I hope my Santa was not so literal as to send me their only copy of their favorite album. :flutterdear:
(Fun fact: I'm listening to it right now while making this post. I like it!)

Image
And after all the pink had been collected, all that remained was this.

Image
My mind raced. Which one would it be? Discord? Nightmare Moon? Twilight? ... Spike?

Image
Woah! :allright:
An original-art MORE poster! Sweet pig ass! :-D

Well, I guess that's all of it. I just want to say thank you so very, very much my so super-duper-secret santa whoever you a-

Wait- What's this?

Thank you for introducing me to fantastic things! "More" is a pretty great movie and I wish I had heard about it sooner. Sadly, the DVD didn't arrive in time
( :gonkity: )
, but maybe you will enjoy the thing that the movie inspired me to [make].

Also, there's other stuff in the package. I was going to do creative, silly descriptions for them, but instead I just derped. Sorry. How did this get here I am not good with words etc.

Anyhow, without further ado:

Have a fantastic Christmas and a grand 2013! It was a pleasure to gift for you, sir.

Best wishes,
Supersecret Santa

Swag.

And that's it! Thank you so much again to my Secret Santa, whoever you are! You've covered your tracks well, and it may take me months to narrow down your secret identity.
Also, it sounds like they have the official DVD of Mark Osborne's MORE heading their way, so it makes you think who the real Santa is in all of this. :twiright:

But seriously, thank you Perrydotto!

It was hard to do art that adequately capture what I wanted to express with the poster and my opinions of MORE, but I think it came out okay. The problem was that I worked so hard and long on it that my judgement just kinda went numb and I didn't even know anymore :modesty:

Well, I wasn't getting updates for this thread for some reason... :-/

Anywho!
I made a short video out of pictures.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IkTpvs5p29w

I had fun with the video, as a little thank you back to my Santa

Arrived home after work on Friday to find my Secret Santa package! :awesomedash:
It was late, but still awesome. (The box was all squished so I think it got lost somewhere and ran over) :gonkity:

I will make another post with my more *serious* (and a couple of extra pictures) reactions but
A quick thank-you goes out to my Santa!
you are awesome! :yay:

Edit: --- Okay here is the other stuff

I was actually really worried when I saw the state of the package. :bluh:
Image
I understood why it was late arriving here. As I opened it I hoped there was nothing fragile or I would have been really sad (until I got the glue!) [Accidental terrible horse joke :gotcha: ]

Luckily, what was shipped to me was pretty resilient. Though some of the candy got crushed.

Speaking of candy ...
Image
This is freeking delicious.
It's edible solid mint hot chocolate. :awesomedash:

Image
These are the strangest damn things. I like spicy things. My mind just cannot wrap itself around what exactly I am tasting or if I like it or not.
To make me react this way to something is great BTW. It tastes a little bit like the Derpy cocktail I invented.
:excellent:

And finally
Image

This is actually really really awesome, I have no Idea if you found it in a thrift store or military surplus or wherever, but it goes perfectly well and a nice contrast to

Image
My Soviet officer's summer hat.

maybe this is just the beginning of an amazing army headgear collection.

:yay: Brakeless, you are awesome and thanks so much!

Image

Merry Christmas to me indeed. :yay:

(P.S. a translation would be awesome)
Image
Image

Thank you for the card and the gift,
Thank you willsun for hosting this again
and Merry Christmas on July sixth!

Well, since I finally got home, I'm gonna start reading it. I also love the first four lines on the back of the book:

Stop.
You should not have touched this book with your bare hands.
No, don't put it down, it's too late.
They're watching you.

Whelp, shit. :-I

And since I'm home, or in the home away from home, to be exact, I can finally check out the rest of the thread. I'm quite relieved to see my santee got their present. I want to tell him that each time I post I leave a little hint. :smirk:

Speaking of candy ...
I originally wanted to send you some liquor as I remembered you being active in the drinks thread, but in the nick of time I recalled from last year that Canadian customs are butts about alcohol, so you got candy instead. If you haven't eaten all the black ones yet, you can crush them and mix them in clear vodka to recreate the high-class beginnings of Finnish cocktail culture.
This is actually really really awesome, I have no Idea if you found it in a thrift store or military surplus or wherever, but it goes perfectly well and a nice contrast to My Soviet officer's summer hat.

I have to thank you for being my Santee, because I've wanted to buy that hat for someone ever since I first lay my eyes on it. I just didn't know anyone who could truly appreciate it. :gotcha:

I got it from a local army stuff/surplus store, which has funny European and Russian hats galore --> example.
(P.S. a translation would be awesome)
I'm not much of a poet but I'll give it a shot. On the cover:

With Christmas come, falls upon the land
a peaceful silence, a precious moment.
Its greatest wonder is time for each other.
It rings for only a while with a gentle tone
we'll meet it with Yule spirit of our own.

Inside: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

I'm so happy you had fun with your gift. :awesomedash: Take care and have a good year.

I decided to make this little follow up post, since it is always nice to hear what people think about their gifts after awhile.

- Liquorice candy I fed mostly to my family and friends as I'm personally not huge fan of it. The ball shaped things were great thou so I ate all of those myself.
- Sour candy was great and I hogged it all to myself and consumed it all during new year while watching some streams, great times. :allears:
- The book was really good, probably my favorite book in the City Watch series so far.
- The USB-stick is, well USB-stick, I used it to install Linux to my new laptop and it worked well.
- Music in the stick was a bit mixed bag, some of them I didn't like but few songs found their way into my regular playlist.
- The T-Shirt is just awesome I just can't tell you how much I like the design, and I use it almost daily. :awesomedash:

As for the stickers I used few to decorate my new laptop, but unfortunately the clue on them isn't strong enough so they don't stick well enough and tend to fall off. I have to use some sticky-backed plastic to clue them back on after I remember to buy some. :twonk:

Thanks again for Isaak for the great gifts, and hopefully the next Secret Celestia will be good as this one. :excite:

That's a good idea Damathacus.

Here's what I think of my gifts:

- Brushie ponies. I brush 'em once in a while. I really like Rarity's mane.
- Miniature ponies are chiling out on the pony shelf with the other miniatures.

Gifts still give me joy!

Rilo Kiley - The Execution of All Things

Elliott Smith - Bled White
Iron & Wine - Waitin' for a Superman
Laura Veirs - Magnetized
Joanna Newsom - Bridges and Balloons
Nick Drake - Pink Moon
The Late B,P. Helium - Don't Let Me Wait Too Long
Brian Eno - Just Another Day
Boards of Canada - Peacock Tail
amiina - Sexfaldur
Conelrad - SOS to the Entire World
David Bowie - V-2 Schneider
Talking Heads - Thank You For Sending Me an Angel
The Olivia Tremor Control - California Demise (Live on NPR)

George Harrison - Wonderwall to be Here
Sigur Rós - Heysátan

It's a very eclectic mix but they mesh together really well and it makes for great working music. Some of the artists I know already, but most are new, so thanks Secret Santa!

While we're on the subject, part deux arrived:

AH a Cadbury Favourites box, I myself got two this Christmas (one unwanted half eaten box, but it was still good) My only dislike is that Timeout was removed and replaced with Boost. Oh well. :pinkieshrug:

Edit: Boost is fine (better then Moro IMO) but Timeout was great. rip.

PS. I still think they put too many plain dairy milk ones in each box.
