FORUM CONTEST: Mad Mares (Fill in the blanks!)
Hey guys! It's CONTEST TIME! That's right, with this easy-to-enter contest, you could win yourself your very own crystal Rainbow Dash keychain courtesy of Willsun!
The runners up (five of them) will receive gang tags for their efforts. So what do you have to do to win? Take this comic strip here:
For those not aware, the characters in this comic strip are Roger Sterling, Don Draper, and Joan Holloway-Harris from the TV series Mad Men. Now, you don't have to be familiar with Mad Men to enter. All you have to do is type in (or hand letter, if you so choose) your lines of dialogue into the empty balloons, and you could win! The subject matter of the dialogue must be related to ponies in some way. Is Sterling Cooper going to do a campaign to advertise ponies? Or perhaps Don Draper is a stealth pony fan? Who knows!
The funniest entries (as judged by mods) will be awarded. You are allowed exactly ONE entry, so make it count! Post your finished comic strip in this thread to enter. The deadline to enter is one week away - January 14 at midnight Eastern time.
NOTE: Using Comic Sans is a bad decision. The comic must still be funny overall, but nice hand lettering or fonts will help your chances.

Also, if you have to modify the balloons to fit your dialogue, that's OK, but try not to cover up all the artwork. Brevity, soul of wit, et cetera.

As part of my neurotic obsessing over this, I switched the punchline between this and "New fandom! No girls allowed!" several times.

I'm just going to go out there and say that anything using Comic Sans loses my vote. Unless it absolutely must have Comic Sans (:sbahj:)

I couldn't think of anything funny that also had a funny last panel so that inspired me to make this.

It's more Ponygoons related than show related, but it's based on a true story.

I think Yorick already won, but I don't care.
(lol sales philosophy)
EDIT: I changed my mind and made a new one, shown above. Here's the old entry.

Mad Men is awesome and I would totally dig Don Draper spruiking ponies in the same way he did the Kodak Carousel presentation.

Re: FORUM CONTEST: Mad Mares (Fill in the blanks!)
When I first saw the thread title, I thought we were doing pony Mad Libs. But it turned out to be so much better.

But... she's cosplaying as Rainbow Dash. How does that even work.

I don't think Draper needs to scream, the torture is much more silent and twisted than that.

Re: FORUM CONTEST: Mad Mares (Fill in the blanks!)
I realized that mine kinda looks like Comic Sans, but I assure you it's not! I used the hand lettering font from Finale, which is a music notation program I use.kefkafloyd wrote:NOTE: Using Comic Sans is a bad decision. So damned proud of my submission.
Whoops, forgot to sign it. Pretend that blank square says "Aramek, Age 28."
